How hot do they get? over the 200 degrees that is the limit for the rust-oleum that I bought?

I would say they get hotter than that but not really sure how high.

I would go to an auto parts store and get some paint specifically designed for brake calipers/high heat applications. I've heard of people using engine enamel which is good to about 500 degrees with sucess as well as people who said it flakes off after a while. Then there are the Duplicolor kits designed specifically for brakes which is probably the best option besides powdercoating.
