Help Finding Tires

I've been reading on and off for a couple hours now about different tires.

I'm needing something that will last around 40K miles. Location is Oklahoma. It doesn't rain too much around here so it won't bother me if it performs poorly in the rain. I would like to autocross a little bit this summer again. Probably go to about 4 or 5. My price range is around 100-125. I've been looking at the Nitto NeoGens and Nitto Invo's. I want something better than what I have now, which shouldn't be too hard to find. Would like the tread wear to be around 300 for the autocross side and then the life span.

Thanks in advance.

Some rather cheap tires will give you pretty good tread life. But they suck at everything else. A sports car deserves better tires. Maybe something like the Kumho Ecsta SPT (Ultra High Performance Summer) would work for you. They have a 320 treadwear and I got 'em for $105/tire, but they're $119 at Tirerack now. I have not been a big fan of mine but a lot of people here love them and get pretty good treadlife. I didn't, but I abused them.

If you're willing to spend a little more for a little less treadlife, you might also consider the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 (Ultra High Performance Summer), 300 treadwear, $136/tire at Tirerack.

Also searching for the holy grail but that's another adventure ahah.

I'm primarily going to be using them for as a dd. And if I want to go autocross a little they won't be too horribly bad.

ha ha, no kidding. 'umm, hi, mr tire-man, i would like to spend $100 on a tire today, and i would like it to last 3-4+years and be sticky enough for autocross...did i mention i want it to last 40k?' i think that might lead to a lot of laughter, uncontrollable laughter...

ok sorry...all joking aside, like notapreppie says, you can't have all three w/o some sort of compromise.

i have been super happy w/ my bfgoodrich kdw2 (now called kdw nt), lasting about 30k and very good traction, but the're over $200 a tire...

toyo proxes 4 should do you well...great tread life, good traction, rather affordable.

Will it last 40k, maybe, will it work with auto X, sure, but not as well as more extreme tires, and yeah its affordable

But it sounds like you may drive rather aggressively, at which point, nothing will last you 40k miles.

Like 2tone said. Asking your tire guy for the kinda tires you're asking for is gonna lead to some kinda laughter. Perhaps if you drove an econobox or suv, you might've gotten lucky with some all weather, all purpose tires - but for what you're asking for - it's gonna be damn near impossible to find. I like KDW ver2's tho...i heard nothing but good things about em'
