Hawk Performance Ceramic vs. HPS vs. Axxix Ultimate
Would performance ceramic worse than stock pads?
Which one would you guys recommend, I"m in need of switching out the pads and is confused of which of these 3 to buy
edit
I got ET500 eventually, no dust, no noise! ordered directly from racingbrake.com, call them for discounts!

I used the Axis Ultimates. I haven't tried the others so I don't have a comparison.
The Axis pads held up well and didn't fade even when I was tracking the car. The only negative would be, that for the street, they would dust your wheels. Lots of cleaning is required. Despite the dust, they had what I would call a average life span for wear. I was satisfied with them.
At the moment, I still have the Axis on the rear and I put Raybestos Ceramics on the front. I can't recomend the Raybestos. There is too long of a delay before the begin to actually dig into the rotor and stop the car.

have had the axxis and the ceramics.
the axxis do dust more in the rear than the stock pads. the difference is it is harder to get the dust off. they do very well on moderate track days.. wear is average.
the ceramics, well barely dust. dont have quite the bite of the stock pads. and are toast after a moderate track day.. i mean gone. throw them away. if you are just going to ride on the street they are fine, and very clean.

I have tried both and now I am back to OEM... I had Axxis before hawk hps. All I can say is Axxis produce way less brake dust than hawk. Its almost like the brake dust was non existence. Axxis also brakes very well and I couldn't tell a difference between the two. And if I replace my brakes again I would most likely stay with OEM or Axxis! No way in hell I would go with Hawks again.

You may want to give the Racing Brake pads a try the ET500's are very nice, I am loving them more and more everyday.

I was just thinking today that my braking performance seemed a little lacking. I've actually felt like that a few times before, but didn't think it was the pads . I'm using the Hawk Ceramics up front and I guess I just assumed they would be better than stock. They do stay quite clean but I'll probably go back to stock the next time.

Give the ET500's a whirl you will be surprised, if you want to get really intense on the street the ET800's are excellent. Very Surprising I must say, I liked them.

I put Hawk Performance Ceramics (and RB slotted front rotors, all from Fluid) on my 8 last weekend, and though I've only had them for about 5 days now, I've been very impressed. I do feel like they have a tad less initial bite than the stock pads, especially on the first stop of the day, but in the end it's not an issue for me because I still feel like they stop very well. And while after 2 days the stock pads would have significantly dusted up my wheels, so far it looks like there is virtually NO dust from these pads. With the new wheels I bought, it was important to me that I keep them dust free, and these Hawks seem up to the task.

If you ever are looking into something with the same qualities but more bite ET500, ET700, ET800 Prospectively.
The ET700 are by special request and all are excellent street pads.
The ET800 has some amazing bite on the street without having to go to a track pad.
There is a customer that just recently picked up the ET800's so I am curious to see his opinions as he was extremely tough on his pads, as he does a lot of mountain runs and is a consistent spirited daily driver.

RX8 and a Truk....
My two cents.
On my Subaru - I swapped to Hawk HPS. They are rubbish. Not bad - just absolutely no better than the 40K mile OEM pads I had.
On my RX8 - I swapped to Ultimates. Fan F'in Tastic. ABS was kicking in the first time i stopped with them. They've been through several track days and about 30k miles and still stop amazingly well. Dusty as hell though, so become good at cleaning your wheels.

i recently switched from oem pads to hawk hps pads. the oem pads still had life left in them and grabbed decently. there is definitely less brake dust with the hps' and they seem to stop slightly better as well. less expensive too. 2 friends of mine run hps' on their cars and also agree.

Same here, just this past weekend, and also all from Fluid. I [non-empirically] think the Hawk's have similar bite to the stocks. I bedded them in per the Hawk recommendation. Of course I haven't had them long enough to speak to lessened brake dust, but they are certainly quiet compared to stock. The Racing Brake Sport rotors are sweet as well!
