Hawk HPS Shortages?
Has anybody else been experiencing delays trying to get their hands on Hawk HPS Pads? I placed an order through a sponsor of one of my other regular forums three weeks ago and they claim they're still having supplier issues.

Some Distributors buy the complete lot of whatever they have....I had to do the same myself it is quite ridiculous to get your hands on them.
I have a few in stock but my big shipment is coming later this month.
Edit: Just noticed you were looking for pads for another car, but yeah it is difficult to come by Hawk pads in general at times.

The RX-8 pads are the same used on the 300zx and wrx 06-08....Yes there are supply issues from Hawk.

That's good to know about the WRX. A local speed shop specializes in Subarus, and I'm pretty sure they're an official Hawk retailer. That could help in a pinch.

For anything you do with an RX-8.
Performance is the same or better than HPS and there is significantly less dust. For me they seem to wear a little faster then HPS but I'm also driving significantly harder.
Ceramics are fine for DD and novice HPDE or local competition autocross. Intermediate/advanced HPDE drivers will want something better than either Ceramic or HPS (or HP+ for that matter ).

NoRotorNoMotor would you mind giving me some details about the ET500 pads. I have the racing brake one piece curved vane rotors and the ET300 pads right now. The 300s don't bite as hard as the OEM pads did but they also don't dust at all really and they are silent. What are your experiences with the 500s. Thanks

The ET500's still preserve those same characteristics that you talked about while catering to a more aggressive brake pad need over the ET300's.
They Bite harder, dust the same, and Squeak level is preserved.
Great for the Aggressive and street Spirited Driver.
I am looking forward to putting mine on my car, I will be trying those out as well as the ET900's for track days.

for anything the HPS is used for the Ceramics will equal or beat IMO without all the dust & squeal issues
Hawk will tell you otherwise, but there's plenty of testimony here to support it for those who tried my recommendation
and WRT to Nissan, not the rears either, same shape but note the two different thicknesses listed, smaller thickness is for the RX-8, higher one is for Nissan and won't fit the RX-8, I know after banging my head for 20 minutes tryin g to figure out why these %#$@^T*^@^% rear pads wouldn't go until finally breaking out the calipers and measuring them, a certain brake vendor didn't machine them down to the RX-8 thickness

Great description.... Very accurate!
The 500's improved stopping power quite nicely over my stock pads also.
