H&R too low??
I just got a set of H&R springs and was wondering how much more difficult is it to normal driving with speed bumps and driveways? i have Eibachs on now and the only reason i wanted to change to H&R was from the pictures i've seen, the front looks as if it has an even drop with the rear. the eibach have a bigger gap in the front which looks a bit off, but gives me no problems with speed bumps and driveways. So i guess the question is if it is worth it to change these out???
thanks

I have the exact same question. I'm in the process of lowering my car and the H&R's are the only springs that have a decent drop, but I haven't seen pictures or know if there are ride height issues.
All other springs I've seen in pictures (MS, RB, Tein) don't have a very noticeable drop....

H&Rs arent that low...im lower PROLLY 2.5 INCHES FRONT AND BACK.. and simply approach an incline or decline of any sort in an angle.... orange 303s car has a MS bodykit and hes really low and has no problems either...
just make it a habit to approach with an angle.. my biggest problem though is the centre.. i scrape sometimes..

nope..ive seen lower.. but you just have to adjust your driving style.. approach inclines and declines with an angle.. you might scrape the underbody since our wheelbase is pretty long.

I just switched out the fronts last night and took measurements to compare them to the eibach's.
Stock was 27.25 from ground to the fender lip. My Eibach's (claimed 1.2in drop) were 26in.
The H&R's were 25.25 so this is a bit more than their INCH claim. I like it though. i'll post the ride difference tomorrow when i get a chance to switch the backs out.

After driving it a few days with the H&R, I feel as the car is a bit more bouncy than it was with the eibachs. handles about the same.
The rears lowered the same is the Eibach. about 1in.

My trouble with the H&R's is with the rebound of the shock. The car's compression is still reasonable, but when hitting larger bumps, the car seems to really kick up too much and too easily after recovering from the bump. Initially I figured I need more rebound compression, but I'm starting to think that as the shocks begin to wear out, I'm hitting the bump stops more frequently. I never noticed this when I first put the springs on, but my car is starting to kick up more and more now.
This 'kick' when bouncing over the seams on briges is not a good feeling while flying around ramps at high speed. That's why I need new shocks....

Since I've had the H&R's installed on stock shocks, I've noticed a decline in rebound damping. Obviously this is not due to the spring, except for the fact than any tight spring needs a firm shock to work well with it. I never noticed the bump stops before, but the more my shocks wear, the more I'm noticing the car has a nasty kick on the rebound stroke after hitting firmer bumps. The compression is still reasonable, but I think the car is low and quite near the bump stops... when the shock starts moving to much through the compression stroke I think I am bouncing off the bump stop. This is my main complaint with this setup and I am anxious to put new shocks on. If you cut the bump stops off I'd think you are more likely to blow the seals on the shocks over the larger bumps, so that may not be a good solution.
