Gunmetal Stock Wheels: Has anyone tried this?

I'm debating between an S2000 and an RX8. It seems there are a lot more pics out there of tricked out S2000's than there are RX8's (being as new as it is this is obvious). Anyway, i'm trying to get an idea of the kind of mods I might do just to get my blood boiling. This seems like it could be a cheap and nice looking mod. Anyone tried it yet? I went ahead and photoshopped a pic just to get an idea, but i'd rather see the real deal if anyone has done it. BTW, thanks to whoevers car this is, sweet ride.

I like it alot, especially on the titanium 8. I wonder if it would look good on my red 8, would you mind doing a photoshop the same way on a red car?

I like the look of my rims when covered with break dirt... don't feel like paying for that effect though

Thanks for the pic then. And you should really powdercoat your wheels.

How about just powder coating the five spokes and leaving the lip alone... now that would be nice...

If the spokes didn't come so far out into the lip I would agree, but i'd have to see the effect before I make up my mind. BTW, that pic of the guy who did this for real wasn't working for me. You wouldn't happen to be able to post a copy of it would ya?

Nice. Gives it a no-nonsense industrial kind of look.

Do you guys notice how MATT the rims look. Especially the rear. I though it's quite nice in matt rather than in the usual clear coat. It looks almost like the finish that's line-up on the walls in those self-cleaning microwave oven. Hmm, come to think of it, isn't in cool to have that self-cleaning finish on the rim as well. No more worries of break dust.

Here's a black car with just the spokes grayed. This is a photoshop mod. I can do other colors if somebody wants. In fact post whatever pic you want done and I'll pull it down and modify it.

Ole Spiff -

Nice Photoshop work! Could you do the Titanium one again, only with the wheels from the black one? (Gray spokes, silver rim). Been thinking of doing this mod for real. Thanks!

Thans looks great , i like the way you left the front spoiler bottom lip in the grey , it matches the front headlight , was it intentionall or you missed the colouring in your photoshop ? it doesnt matter because it looks great.
thanks

Thanks Ole! Might just have to do this, or something similar. Anyone know how I would go about getting my wheels powder coated? Paint shops? Or where?
