put the coilovers in. im a little disappointed at the height of the rear, i believe its as low as itll go and i still have a 2 finger gap. did i do something wrong? otherwise im still playing with the dampening to find a nice ride, but its deffinitely not too stiff for daily driving. the front is a nice height and can go a little lower. as far as handling its still to early to say.

so any comments about the height of the rear??

thats normal, remember, its adjustable, if u want to go any lower, you can. the coilovers come at a generally preset height on purpose, its the suggested height. the car must remains its stock "rake" which is its diff of height front axle vs rear axle. the stock cars rake is a lil lower in the front on purpose. allegedly, its to enduce understeer, im not sure. you can lower the rear more if you want, but i left mine like it is, i trust teins suggested height, if it should have been lower, it would have been.

just dont go too low, you already kno the problems associated with that, i remember the convo we all had....!

enjoy them!!!!

how high is your rear end? like i said, i think theyre as low as itll go... the lower mount is as high as it can go, and i put the top 2 collars basically as far down as theyll go... and theres still a 2 finger wheel gap

i got about 2 fingers of a gap between the tire and the fender, they want it like that, only u went at it differently than me. i didnt touch the upper two collars, they adjust spring preload and i didnt want to mess with that. i moved up the collar for the shell case and spun the collar/ case up till the measurments were within TEINS specs.......

u just cancelled yourself out. the upper two collars are for adjusting spring preload, moving them down will raise the height compared to moving them up. if you move them up, it will compress the spring and move the entire rear lower to the ground, but it destroys suspension travel, u will notice that cheaper coilover setups only have that option. Tein however gives u seperate adjustment of preload and shell case length, allowing u to lower the car without ruining ride quality and suspension travel.

since u went down with the preload collars, the ride goes up, and since u went up with the shell case u went down with the ride height, see?

moving collars up= moving ride height down
moving collars down= moving ride height up

u did both so its sittin at like....basic height. check your instructions manual. they give u the length that each collar should be compared to each other. off the top of my head, the diff between the spring seat collars and the shell case collar is about .6 inches.(for the rear and about 1.5 for the front) that doesnt mean u lowered it .6 inches remember, thats just the diff between the collars.

if u were lucky like me, u still remember trigonometry class and itll all look simple. ( distance bwtween A and B is X . distance between B and C is X2 etc etc etc )put the car back up in the air and remove the lower bolt holding each rear strut and check your manual and get measuring!!!!!!!!!! have fun! then get it aligned

actually i started at teins specs, did all the measurements before hand, and it was just about stock height in the rear. i moved the lower mount as high as it will go and the car was still too high. this is when i decided to move the preload collars.

i was told that moving the preload collars up would actually lower the car but i still cant picture this.

you say i will notice that cheaper coilover setups only have that option... take a look at HKS, FEED, RE Amemiya, are you saying these are all cheaper options?

once the preload of the springs are literally raised higher, then try moving the shell case up as well, if possible.

with other kits being only adjst with preload, those that u mention are not at all cheaper. when i said cheaper i wasnt referring to those companies, i should have specified. i mean cheap as in quality. i wont name names bc im sure ppl own these kits and ill get flamed for this crap too. tein offers coilovers at a lower price bc they only offer preload adj and not shell case too. there r many companies that only offer that.

send me your AIM sn (by PM) if u have any Qs

i specified in my first thread that what you call the "shell case" is already as high as it can go.

i know the 3 ive mentioned are not cheaper in price nor quality, only to show a good amount of quality coilovers come without this "shell case" adjustment. only other that i can think of which cost less are Tein Basic (i know you know). there are many lower cost options that do include this adjustment like Megan Racing. it doesnt make them better coilovers though (compared to HKS, FEED, RE Amemiya).
