Getting Low wait.. Slammed

Whats goin on guys. Trying to figure out which coilovers are going to be the best to get real low. Just doing research at the moment, not even sure if im going to get the car till tomorrow. I have looked around a bit. Looks like Stance GR+ or a set of Tein. Just looking for others
Maybe post a picture of how low your car is, post your setup and if you can go down lower.
Thanks

if you are looking at coilovers, you will be able to set ride height wherever you want. if you are looking at springs, there is a thread that has all kinds of slammed 8 pics. fyi its a sticky in the suspension part of the forum

Just search for coilovers and look at the adjustment range. Some do not allow you to "slam" the car and others will allow you to sit on the tires. It all depends on your budget and purpose for the car. But if you really want slammed then air ride is the way to go.

I realize the difference between springs and coilovers, I want the adjustability for sure. But different coilovers will drop different amounts, Im coming from the VW world where your choice of coilovers either means slammed or 4x4 lol
If your talking about the stanced thread here thats 164 pages I went through it all already not many people talk about their suspension setups though.

Generally Stance coil overs are the choice for the slammed crowd. But there are alternatives, like the ones on Ebay that will go as low. But since no one really admits they run Ebay coil overs, it's hard to find out if they are really crap or not. I have installed a $700.00 set of Tanabe's and a 1500.00 set of Bilsteins, and quality wise (in terms of construction, welds, etc.) they were comparable. But the guy running the Tanabe's is all about stance and the guy running the Bilsteins is all about handling so..........

But if you wanna go low on springs the sprint springs (if you can find them) and Koni Yellow shocks will get you real low.

One reason I said the Stance's is because they are known for going low, but I have also heard they are decent when you want to shoot corners too

Going around corners is generally something you lose when you go for "slammed". Pick one or the other here. "Lower" isn't bad, as long as it proper and appropriate for the suspension to still work correctly. Slammed you are putting the vehicle beyond the point that the suspension is actually doing anything, even in a straight line.

Stance, Megan/ksport, HKS, will all let you drop down about 3 inches... more than enough to shoot sparks off the diff when you hit a bump. Tein
Basics will not let you go lower than springs in the rear.

I'm also considering stance. Personally I want a bit of both worlds, low and performance. And from the research I've done it looks like stance gr is a good choice. Can't wait for spring time to come so I can "slam" my 8, not too too low though lol.

9k jacked my picture!

here's the other pic of a car on an air suspension.
personally I think it's ridiculous to ruin a car's handling by slamming the car but to each his own.

Actually if you did the amount of research and fab that I've done on an air setup you can get that look and not have a "ruined suspension", people don't drive cars dumped all the way down or aired all the way up for anything farther than a couple of feet at best, if they do it's an exception not the rule and they're probably driving around not even realizing what they're doing to their car anyway. My car handles great and has about half a foot of adjustability, when I'm done with changing it up it will handle even better than it does now and still allow me to sit all the way down (or as close as possible anyway).

Modern air setups (like the airrunner system that's in these pics) use sleeved bags working together with fully adjustable KYB struts, so you're not riding on just air alone anymore, you're riding on an adjustable strut and the bags allow you to adjust ride height, these systems can compete with coilovers handling wise no problem although they're obviously a lot heavier (especially mounting an air tank or tanks, compressor etc.) and more expensive so you won't be seeing many at a track day or autocross ever.
So tired of people bashing air ride systems, it's not the same as it was before folks, they've changed alot over the years, plus they're not very difficult to tune and adjust for whatever type of ride characteristics you want, to say they "ruin the suspension" is ridiculous, even the Enzo and several other exotics use a variation of pneumatic adjustable suspension to raise and lower the car. I could go on forever about different size line and its effect, valve bodys, actuators, fitting types, there's a lot to it that most people don't even know or realize is there.

I close with this, my car at last year's Sema show, "slammed", with a "ruined" suspension

I love them man. I can't quite comment on the full performance since I don't track the car. but as far as street driving goes it is amazingly smooth and almost stock soft on its soft settings. grips real nice with the oem tires too

lowering more than an inch affects your handling no matter what, your seriously tweaking the cars suspension geometry. But can't lie, it does look good
