G-Games or Work

Ok guys im in a bit of a dilemma I cant decide between a set of G-Games 99B (gunmetal) or Work Emotion CR Kai (bronze) .:banghead:
Im gonna go 8.5 in front and 9.5 in the ass .
So I need opinions and pros and cons (best offset , do I need to roll the arches etc)

The Reverend 08-28-2009 12:41 PM

What color is your 8? As much as I like the CR-Kai's those G-Games are some of my favorite rims and they are less common than the Works.

nuke0907 08-28-2009 12:46 PM

get the same width all around.

thebiggdaddy 08-28-2009 01:32 PM

Go with 9.5's all around if you're going to go with the Emotion.

shifty 08-28-2009 02:20 PM

My baby is Brilliant Black I would go big alround but I dont want to compromise handling and I dont realy want to role my arches

nuke0907 08-28-2009 02:24 PM

you can easily fit 9.5's all around even with 275 tires. you will sacrifice handling for looks if you buy the staggered setup you are talking about.

shifty 08-28-2009 02:27 PM

so 9.5 all round is better on handling then staggered 8.5-9.5 is that wot your saying.

ok so if I go 9.5 all round what sort of off set and tyre size should I look at.

9krpmrx8 08-28-2009 02:47 PM

If you go staggered you cannot rotate your tires properly.

nuke0907 08-28-2009 02:49 PM

Topgear8 has a good setup.

Catspaw 08-28-2009 02:54 PM

I'd say in the +30 range with 255/40 or wider

shifty 08-28-2009 04:16 PM

Yeah I luv Topgear8's rims but I cant get them here in the UK and importing them is to much

shifty 08-28-2009 05:07 PM

would +40 not be a better fit

Ross_Dawg 08-28-2009 05:46 PM

It would but your wheels wont sit as flush as +30 would

Juansito 08-28-2009 05:54 PM

I got the works and they look sexy ;)

shifty 08-29-2009 03:54 AM

whats the stock offset is it 40 or 45:scratchhe

shifty 08-29-2009 11:10 AM

Ok as far as deciding which rims ive chosen the works well when I say ive chosen I mean the boss (Girl friend) has decided cos I can but now its a case of 8.5's all round or 9.5's and tyres.

pdxhak 08-29-2009 11:29 AM

I run 19x8.5 +40 front and back with 255/35. Stock wheel offsets are +50. I do not rub on the fenders but I do on the front wheel liners which I suspect is due to the brand or tire vs. the size. I have a thread on it with pics if you are interested.

shifty 08-29-2009 11:42 AM

Yeah if you could point me in the direction of your Thread that would be great.

The forum is a little vast when you search for stuff you get several hundred results.

pdxhak didnt you leave a post earlier or is it my imagination.

Catspaw 08-29-2009 01:51 PM

I'm running 19x8.5 +45 with 255/35 and no issues whatsoever. Pics are in my photo album in my public profile.

pdxhak 08-29-2009 08:04 PM

Here is the thread showing where I rub on the front liners.

shifty 08-30-2009 08:21 AM

Thnx pdxhak I had a little read and I should be fine im only going for 18's and you cant get those tyres over here in the UK anyway which is ashame they have a seriously funky tread pattern.

pdxhak 08-30-2009 10:48 AM

No problem. For some reason I thought you were going with 19". Anyway the reason I went with 255/35/19 is because the OD is the closest you can get to the 18" OE wheel and tire combo. Good luck with your search :)

shifty 08-30-2009 10:53 AM

Thanks I would go with 19's but the roads over here are a state and bigger rims would just destroy the ride.

SilverHokie 09-01-2009 07:09 AM

I mean...I understand the issues with a staggered setup, but honestly, after my alignment after I was lowered, I don't have any steering or cornering issues. Feels just as nimble, with just a slight fight/grip in the back.

245 Front 265 Back. 8.5 Semi-Concave +38 Front / 9.5 Deep Concave +38 Rear

I would get 9.5 all around as well, but the did not have ANY sets when I ordered mine. Like...none.

shifty 09-09-2009 11:36 AM

Just got a deal on a set of Brembo's but apparently they dont fit behind stock rim's but will they be ok behind the Work rims .

T-ReX-8 09-10-2009 06:58 PM

Are you honestly stuck between some 99bs and Kais?

Get the Kais, thats a no brainer in every way. Try to avoid a staggered setup as mentioned earlier and even if you want some good rubber on it try to avoid anything north of +35 if you want an agressive look/stance. We have wide fender flares, the lower the offset the better off your car will look.

shifty 09-11-2009 01:41 AM

Yeah im definatly goin for Kai's with 9.5 all the way round providing as ive said I can get confirmation that they will fit over a set of brembo's.

DynamicDookie 09-11-2009 02:38 AM

i've got cr kai's 18x9.5 +38 all around with falken azenis 255/40/18. 265/35/18 will fit too, but the 265 azenis is much more expensive and the 255s are almost the exact same height as stock. no odometer change.

with slight camber adj. there's no rubbing at all. a lower offset and you'll need to roll the fenders

the deep concave front and rear looks perfect and the curves/edges on the spokes match the look of the car

shifty 09-11-2009 12:05 PM

whats the spacing behind the spokes is it more than the stock rims

shifty 09-30-2009 02:49 AM

Is 255/35/18 ok for these or is it best to go with the 255/40/18 I only ask cos its a difference of £40 ($65) between the 35,s and 40.s where I get my tyres which adds up when theres 4 but its not worth bein tight if there no good.

shifty 10-19-2009 01:04 PM

Well ive got my Kai's finally courtesy of Brice at Fluid Motor Sport's and although I haven't seen them fitted in the light im well pleased so thanks for all the advice and once my bronze lug nuts come il be posting some pictures for all to see.

pdxhak 10-19-2009 06:24 PM

shifty 10-23-2009 03:03 PM

5Zigen ProRacer Forged Racing Lug Nuts but they are a browner bronze than the wheel but will stick some pics up tomorrow.

You need to search the board and internet before jacking someones thread. Anyway here you go. If you have questions on fitment or tires then read the sticky threads and search the board before jacking a thread or starting a new one.

L2K-8 10-25-2009 03:35 AM

^i knew all that before I started to post in this thread. i searched the board but didn't see much. and i already saw that black rx8 with the chrome work vs-kf wheels. i was hoping someone has pics of the wheels in different color and at different angles. my post counts are just a few, but that doesn't mean i don't know shit.
