TX Front wheel speed sensor vs Front Hub

Anyone know why the Mazda service manual recommends replacing the front hub when the wheel speed sensor is malfunctioning?

Verbatim from the manual: "If there is any malfunction in the front ABS wheel-speed sensor unit, replace the wheel hub component".

It makes no sense to me. Anyone?

Based on what Eric Meyer said, I believe the sensor is integral with the hub.

^^Both are correct. The speed sensors are part of the hub that cannot be seperated. Which really sucks. I have to replace mine and have been delaying because of this...

Thank you all. I ran searches for hours and that's how it looks like. However, you can buy the brand new speed sensor from Mazda. Why allow so if it can't be separated from the hub?

Not a good design from Mazda.

I was mistaken. There is no Mazda OE P/N for the front sensors but only for the hubs (P/N 33-061). Oh well...

Thanks again!
