Factory Wheels
Just a question...i'm thinking bout going with 17 inch..on my rx8...would that be a smart move...or should I just get it factory?
factory.
yeah...thats what I thought.

If for strictly racing 17" rims will help with weight a bit & with gearing. But for Daily driver / street use ... bad idea. Will add a lot of untrue miles to the car ( over time ) Also the 17" rims wil not be allowed in SCCA stock class.
Yeah if your doing track then get 17" if not stockers :)
There's no problem with odometer readings if you use the correct profile tire to bring it back up to the rolling radius. 17" wheels generally fit fine; whether it's a preference you like is a whole different question.
yeah...it is my daily driver...like all of us in here...but i don't drag it..but I would like a faster time...so maybe if I want that...i should keep it fac. and just get gears...but they are so expensive.
Get 22"s They are extra light and they are the best for the track!
But i would just try to find some lightweight 18" wheels. 17"s are good and all, but they don't look as good on the 8, unless your a track addict. |
17" gives an ugly gap unless you go with tall tires.:icon16: just use stock 18"s and get a pair of sticky 245/40 Dunlops for the rear.
^My friend has 17"s with Tein S-Techs and his car is very low. but with the springs and 17" wheels he is bottoms out alot.
