FL don't trust your mechanic with anything wtf

Ok so I ordered 4 Toyo T1R Proxes (245/40/18). I bought my 8 a month ago and have been driving on egg shells because the rear tire had a cut in the sidewall and was leaking. So I get the Toyos on and drive back to my house a mile away. As my grandparents are outside they hear a pop and say that it came from my car..... so I get in a start her up and I have low tire pressure light . wtf. So I go back to the shop and the guys start saying that my wheel may be the problem. I looked it over and informed them that they had put the sensor back in wrong. They used like 4 new stems and thought it was my wheel.... idiots. So I made them do all 4 tires again and balance. I am an aircraft mechanic in training and this type of stuff is insain to me. If I was on the highway going 140 and that stem blew out....? So yeah, moral of the story is that you should look over everything your mechanic does and if you need 3 225/45/18's i have them for you

That happened to me, except on ALL 4 tires, the techs forgot to put in the TPMS valve stem gaskets...so all 4 went flat the night before I supposed to drive my car to California for SevenStock.

But yeah, where are you going to (and where is it legal) to do 140mph on the highway?

Thought the same thing too but re-read his statement.

If...is the key word. I think he was trying to create a worst case scenario. The only thing that crossed my mind was how would an NA car get up to 140 quickly...lol

hahaha, yeah it was hypothetical but serious. I bought an 8 to go fast in.... This was at the Tires Plus in Margate on 441. These guys are idiots, they once put one of my larger wheels in the front of my MR-2. When I took it back the 'mechanic' told me he didnt know there was a stagger..... wow.

I start work at 0430 twice a week so there is noone on the highway, even in Boston. If your cruising along at 90 or so it really doesn't take long to bump up to 140.
