Anything below like 900 is pretty much complete garbage...

Save up and do it right instead of buying stuff you'll just regret later.

if you wanna budget, i say go with a decent spring/strut combo. I.E. S techs + Koni yellows.

Best bang for your buck IMO.
You can get better ones if you want to shell out of course like KW V3's or Ohlins, but these are like half the cost and I'm on as much of a budget as anyone else know what I mean.

They perform great out on the track, the first thing that everyone has said after they've taken my car out for a few laps is that it has loads of grip. The car stays extremely flat through corners as well. I'm running higher spring rates than any of the other Powertrix guys and the huge Progress Tech sways help out as well but the coilovers are equally important. They ride good, they go super low for the fitment/stance guys and so far they've given me no trouble.

I attached a picture of the car in a corner, gives you a good idea of how little body roll there is with this setup. According to data acquisition that corner was about 1.4G's at around 65-70MPH on street tires.

There is a cost minimum for everything. While deals can be had, I $300 for good coilovers that will last is not possible.

There are different price points but within the "Entry Level" coilover bracket you'll see everything from ~$700 - $1500. Personally, the cheapest high quality option I've really seen is just south of $1000 new, though there are quite a few options within the Entry Level bracket.

there is alot more variety in coilovers for vw's and bmws starting from around £150, its probably down to the higher demand for riding low in comparison to rx8s. i had a set of ta technix coilovers for my last car that were £200 with a 2 year warranty, the same brand coilovers for the rx8 are £550 and i have every reason to believe that inside theyd be exactly the same.

They're the Race coilovers and I'm running 11k/8k spring rates.

this thread has potential.

OP, if you talking about slip on adjustable perches ie. ground control stuff, you're out of luck there too.

Save your money and do it right, or go with Dozer's recommendation. Even that will run you $600 to $800 new depending on what you go for.

The OP is talking about Racelands or Rokkor coils for the tC. I know a few people with them and the ride is pretty poor for coilovers. They're height adjustable only and reuse the stock mounts. They're good if you want to go low and that's it. They're not like traditional coilovers that you normally get either because the perch move the spring up and down much like ground controls. Lower you go, the less travel you have.

+1 for Dozer recommendation. Cheap becomes VERY expensive in the long run.

Im going to add on my question to this thread.
I too am looking for a new suspension set up. I currently have mazdaspeed springs and shocks, but want to upgrade to coils.
however
I need some adjustable ones at a budget. I will be moving to northern california in the winter where the roads are rough, hence the need for adjustable.
I wouldnt want to use what andino was saying, since the ride is poor.

I dont care too much about ride comfort, and it doesn't matter since they will be adjustable.
Anything helps

I would suggest selling your mazdaspeed system and getting in on the next PowerTrix group buy they should cost around $1050 shipped since your in socal maybe you could arrange a pick up and save a few $$$.

I live on some very rough roads (similar to norcal) and on full soft it feels like stock. and on 4 clicks from full soft it feels very sporty yet still manageable for DD duty on shitty roads.

Do you have the road/track? I was looking at them and trying to decide between those or the Sport street..
I'll only be doing track driving during the summer

As far as I know only the "race" version is available for the rx8...

Check this thread out. Keep in mind my mini review above. Don't let the title "race" scare you off.
