Do shocks go bad if they've been sitting out for a few years?

I have a set of oem shocks from an 05'. They where given to me by my brother who replaced them at 20k miles for coilovers. The set has been stored away in the garage for atleast 4 years. I was thinking of just replacing the coils and installing them on mine.

The shocks should be fine. If your going with lowing springs, you may have a problem with any of our oem shocks. They were only designed for a certain ride height.

Okey good. I was thinking of getting the racingbeat coils anyway, not too much drop
