Dealer Installation Fees

Hey guys,

I had a question about the installation of some parts. I called up the dealer and asked them if they could give me a quote on the installation of my just arrived Mazdaspeed shocks and springs. After five minutes of holding, they told me it would be around 440$. I was sort of shocked at this and just told him, thank you and ended it there. This is really bothering me because I called a couple weeks ago for the price of the Mazdaspeed cai and they told me 800. I was totally floored by this. So, I called another dealer and they told me 900! I thought, well, I'll just order from Rosenthal. This is what I did with the shocks and springs. But back to my original question: Does 440 seem like a high installation fee for just shocks and springs?

I'm in the same situatio as you kinda - I have the mazdaspeed shocks, springs, and tower braces to insatll and I'm sure if i paid them to do it, they would slap me for 1500 bucks or something crazy like that.

Thankfully in my area where I live there are some awesome RX8 club people and we are having an install party to where people such as myself without the tools and facilities can still get to tinker and play with my ride from cool people that happen to have the gear.

Unless you have the money to blow and "really really want it installed now" i would suggest searching the board for someone in your area that might be willing to help? Or if worse came to worse, find someone that has the tools/facilities and see if they might be willing to help and even compensate them for their time and generosity. (but not all insane $$$ like mazda wants)
