curb rash... any good fixes?

I scrapped on a curb tonight , and stopped to look. there is about a 3 inch section on the lip with curbbage on the passenger rear tire, and an inch gap on the passenger front. Its night now, so ill see better tomorrow, but is there anythng you can do to help it? Like sanding it down or something?

On the rim. Its on the lip just before the tire. I was making a sharp left merge turn, and took it to close paying attention to heavy traffic coming i heard boom boom, knew i hit/scraped the right side on the curb, pulled over and looked. The body of the car wasnt hit thank god, only damage is curbbage on the passenger side rim lips. The rear is worse, which has a 3 inch rash spot along the rim lip. the front has a smaller one.

I was wondering if you could somehow wet sand it down, and buff it. I dunno ive never done this before, any ideas?

Mine are all jacked too. Any suggestions would be great (minus, "get some new rims").

from > 5 feet away you cant really notice it, but as you get closer and really look at the rim, its painfully obvious.

I bought a 30K car, and the stock breaks squeek on slowing down, and i have curbbage on 2 rims

Anyone have a fix?

Happened to me as well. While I had the snows on I sent the stock rims out for sanding and polishing. Cost about $125 Cdn. Look like new.

Local guy here wants to do a filler, then paint, then clear coat. He wanted about $50 to do the job on fixing a small 1" scrape.

THere USED to be a DIY on how to fix rim scuffs / wheel scuffs on the net that I linked to when people asked this question, but I think it is down. Ah here it is: http://www.performancescene.net/tetu-wheelrepair.shtml

I tried to word that so that when someone searches they will see this thread. This question comes up every few months / weeks.

If it is the standard "grey" rim, you can touch it up with Sunlight Silver touch up paint. If you have deep gouging, though, that may not suffice for you.

Hmm...Bondo on a rim. Sounds like there could be more touch-up work after getting a set of new tires

Those results look great, but there is no way I would try it on any car because there are thousands of shades of silver. I can't believe his matched perfect.

Be sure to get the wheels rebalanced afterward...

It looks like this is the same DIY that used to be hosted at performancescene.net.
