cracked rotors?!
Have recently been informed that the brake rotors on the blue beauty are cracked, it has been autocrossed for most of its years, ended last year with new tires, don't want to wear them out too quick! How quickly should the rotors be replaced and does anyone have a good, reasonable source for replacement parts - rotors and pads? It's also in the shop for replace of fuel pump at less than 47K miles! other than that, the beauty's in good shape. Ant good advice/help will be greatly appreciated!
i just replaced all 4 of my rotors with r1 concepts slotted and drilled rotors. paired with hawk hps pads and really like how they feel. if you track often you might want to look into a racing brake set up. i dont track my car so this is fine for me
Assuming you autocross in a stock class, just buy the Mazda OEM rotors. If you have not already done so, you can send your race results to Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development and purchase parts at a substantial discount.
If you are autocrossing at a higher level of preperation (ST, SP, SM, etc...), Racing Brake makes a good two-piece rotor which will save you three pounds per corner.
