Question cost and or time of spring install

you guys know about how much it should cost to install springs on my 8... im getting some mazdaspeed springs on saturday i went down to a shop today and they were telling me 350 at the max.... also i was looking at the DIY section and thinking of doing it my self it didnt look to bad. i was just wondering about how long does it take to install(no spring compressor)... the guys at the shop were telling me the back would take em 6hours, but the diy made it seem so much faster... anyways thanx for the help in advance

Its definitely not hard, just put a saturday away to do it. It took me about 8 hours or so and i had never done it before. Save yourself the money and do it yourself. I just followed the directions in the DIY and it came out fine. Then all you have to spend is 50-80 for a good alignment. Also, since most aftermarket spring are shorter than stock it won't be too hard to put the assemblys back together without a spring compressor. If anything lean on it and have somebody thread the nuts back on.

400 to 600 bucks.

If you don't have the tools or experience do not do it yourself.

i went to a place around SGV that cost $110 to install... took them an hour or so (not sure because they were working on other cars at the time)

just make sure all your lug nuts are tightened before you drive home... one of mine got loose.

There are no problems. The rx-8 springs/shocks are very easy to swap out. Will take 3-4 hours by yourself with a floor jack and stands.

+1, but I do recomend a spring compressor. You can rent it from your local shop.
