Cost of RX-8 18's....
I have the "standard" 16's which are actually more rare than the 18's! I know most everyone thinks the 16's are horrendous but they look pretty good on my sunlight silver 8. However I love the 18's style and was wondering if there was a way to purchase the 18 inch wheels and how much would they cost? Thanks for the help!

Wait until someone takes theirs off and sales them. I wil lbe doing this in the next couple of months and others already have. I would think this would save you a bunch of money and most people only have between 2k-5k miles on their cars at this point so you won't get a beat up piece of junk.

Thanks for that information! The wheel is cheaper than the tire? did you actually get RE040's? Cause you could have gotten better tires for less! Since you had to replace all 4 I would have gotten different tires for sure.
The RE040's shouldn't even be that expensive that is retarded.
I'm surprised on the price of the wheels though, not bad!

Cost of OEM wheels -- and other stuff
You can get all kinds of price quotes on Mazda parts. My dealer said OEM 18" wheels cost $364 (that's American). Another dealer wanted $52 for the trunk net, which I saw somewhere on the Net for $36. Fortunately, my cost on that item will be $0, because it came in a package on my wife's Camry and she doesn't want it. All I have to do is figure out a way to put attachments on my trunk.

In Canada we did not receive our RX-8's with tire pressure sensors. That is strictly a USA setup so far..
I got 225/45/17 Nokian Hakka WR all season tires mounted for $235 each.
All prices are in Canadian $$, so that is about $98/175 US.
The Nokian all weather are more of a winter design than summer.
While most "all season" tires are pretty well only designed for spring/summer/fall, Nokian ( a Finnish company) is in the winter tire business, and theirs is a fall/winter/spring tire with extensive measures to make them a good ice/snow/rain tire.
I chose a low profile (45) tire as I wanted lots of fender well room around the tires. One of the biggest problems I encounter in the winter is ice and snow packing inside the wheel wells. It is pretty scary when you try and turn a corner and the front steering will not work as there are blocks of ice in the wheels wells!
