Coilover cleaning
not sure if this should go in the suspension thread or the show and shine thread...
anyway.. I recently picked up some used stance GR+, as almost everybody knows, the old version rusts so quickly on the threads.
Ive looked around and the most common answers were to soak them in WD40 or scrape them with a wire brush..
I didnt feel like going to the garage for wd40, so i just scraped them, not completely rust free... However it turned from a dark brown rust to semi light gray brown with the black paint showing underneath.
Ive even saw someone say to dunk the coilovers in coke for a few hours..
What do you guys use?
Is it advisable to coat the threads after im done getting the rust off with some paint? I assume this will just scratch off when the locking nuts get twisted around it.
