Cheap abrasive pad for stock calipers?

Seems I have some uneven pad deposits that are causing some vibration under braking. Rather than taking the rotors to be resurfaced, I'm thinking of using the trick described here: Uneven Pad Deposit Removal

Damn sight more expensive than just having the rotors turned, but on the flip side I'll have a set of pads around in case I need to do this again in the future.

StopTech recommends the Hawk 9012 (Blue) for this purpose. Anyone have any other recommendations, preferably less expensive?

What pads are causing "uneven deposits"? This is not something I've experienced with OEM, Bendix ceramic street pads, Hawk HP+, or Hawk HPS pads. All swapped at-will without any break-in or special treatment.

Brand new rotors are cheaper than a set of Hawk Blues.
