Can you use an 18x7.5" rim on an 8?

Can you use an 18x7.5" rim on an 8?
I found a set of rims I like but the largest they offer is a 7.5" rim. Will this be too small??? Usually upgrading wheels means going bitter and not smaller...

You can, but why would you want a thinner rim than stock?

You're downgrading, not upgrading.

they are really cool rims but I can't get them any bigger than 7.5" which really sux...

These are the wheels I was thinking of. Just wish they were wider...

If you are looking for a straight up and down sidewall, a 225 tire will fit fine on a 7.5" wheel. A 235 tire fits a 8" wheel perfectly. A 245 fits great on a 8.5" wheel. I always wonder why Mazda went whimpy with the rubber on our '8s.

I love those rims but am unsure if I want to get a narrower rim. (is that even a word?)

i have the same problem...or had. but what difference is .5 ? i doubt anyone will be able to tell anyway...you should just get them if they're the rims that you want.
