tires are probably too tall, I'd try a slightly smaller profile next go-round, probablly go slighty more narrow too. Are these 8.5's on all corners or?

Nice Rezax JRB, look great on the red.

Shiyi Xia 05-21-2007 07:53 PM

yes...18x8.5 all around.

It's not the tires that's the problem; 245/40-18s actually have a slightly shorter rolling diameter than the stock 225/45-18s. Rather, the +32 offset is probably a bit on the aggressive side, but even so you shouldn't be rubbing in the rear. My guess is that you're running very little negative camber on the rear wheels; get an alignment done and see what numbers pop up. My guess is it'll be at something like 0.5 degrees negative camber. I don't know what your definition of slight is, but if it actually is very slight getting the rear negative camber to 1.5 degrees should eliminate the rubbing. That is just my wild assed guess. It's really weird that a 245 is rubbing in the rear.

wheels

thanks for the compliments... looking for a nice rear bumper or maybe i'll just pick up the appearance package aero flares. i think they finish the back off nicely... simply. also want to get an understated rear spoiler... just something low and thin to sit at the edge of the trunk ( not the rb). dig the jdm look

ngo - working on the drop. crap thing is that i'm not getting as much drop in the front with the ms coilovers as i should. got a tip from another member that its probably because the control arms were tightened while the car was off the ground. suggested loosening the bolts a bit so that the car settles properly, then tightening them again (makes sense). gonna try that in the next day or so. the backs i can drop til the thing is on the friggn ground.

we shall see...

NgoRX8 07-03-2007 02:11 AM

yah, that has to be the problem. i tested it on my friend's car and it definitely dropped more once the control arms were tightened on the ground.

nattyjoe 07-03-2007 03:28 PM

control arm issue

ngo,

should i be loosening both upper and lower control arms? i'm assuming thats the case but just want to be sure. have any idea what the torque setting should be?

thanks for the help

I love those wheels! Makes me wanna abandon my plans to buy RPF1s.

SBZRO 07-04-2007 05:05 PM

Where's a good and reputable place to get Work wheels? I did a search and came up with a lot of dead ends, but then again I am at the work computers and they are known to stop working for no reason.

Red_X8 07-04-2007 05:25 PM

I am getting mine through J on Demand. PM lazi and see what he can do.

nattyjoe 07-04-2007 06:40 PM

I'm gradually becoming a fan of bronze wheels on a black car (wasn't really a fan untill recently), but your set up is proper. I'm really digging it. Work wheels are the f'n shizer.

thanks, bro.

i felt the same way you did about the bronze. even wanted to sell them for a few weeks. but now i'm glad i didnt. the black and bronze isnt a common combination. i like it cuz it doesnt call too much attention to the wheels.

Work does make some pretty nice wheels. Surprised so few people know about them. Shhhhhhhhhhhh...!
