The tires on my 19's are getting pretty worn out (one of them blew, actually), so I had to borrow the wheels for my other car:

18x7.5 +40, 225/40 Kumho Ecsta MX. Steering response is a little slow and wobbly, but I'm hoping it gets better as the tires break in. The price is really good though; this may be a good option for me with the way I consume tires.

I got a question for you guys: where you go to get tires mounted, do they claim "not liable for wheel damage?" All shops over here seem to do that. WTF is up with that? How are they not liable if I'm paying them? I'm terrified to take my 19's anywhere over here; I think I need to take them off island.

Make sure where ever you take them for mounting or dismounting that they have a machine for custom rims.

I will not go to any of the local Discount Tires shops because they do not have the equipment to not cause damage to the rims.

One bad thing about living on a small beautiful island... not as much competition.

(I think I saw your car when I was out in Kauai last year. )

that is why i do all work on my own car. my volks are reverse mounted rims, meaning i don't ever mount the tires with the pretty side up. but i think the mono block wheels aren't made that way. i mounted some tires on Time Attack CE28's and ended up using the Volk wheel cover for some added protection. it's all in the skill of the installer. move to Maryland and i will hook you guys up

it all depends on the guy that doing the install.
the shop i mounted at said that they weren't liable but i talked to the guy who was installing the tire and he was very careful. He even asked if i would like to tighten my own valve stem because he didn't want to slip.

In Minnesota, the place I have do the work said please do not recommend them because it is not easy work.

They mounted mine reverse as well.

If they get more practice maybe it will be easier.

I watched them do two rims and see how much work it is to do.

Should have these on my 8 in a couple of months (they're on the slow boat from Japan). I'll post again when they're on. I'm stoked!

Black. Decided to go with the gold for a little pop. Could have received the wheels sooner if I went with GunMetal or Silver. Gold is a special order.

Gold on black sweet combo. How many months was the ETA? When I ordered mine they said 3-4 months and it came in 3 months and 10 days.
