Titus, sounds to me like she's definitely a keeper

Your 8 is lookin' good, those rims are really slick on the black. But it looks like we need to have a Momo thread caliper painting party, because mine need it bad and so do yours!

lol, apparently the brembo covers were a bad idea. I paid 19.00 for them, but apparently they are a mazda rx8 fashion Faux Pas?

Thanks for the help. Alucard do you just recommend a paint kit?

thanks titus

Alucard recommends a RacingBrake BBK, but he's also made of money j/k

Brembo covers are ... just kind of cheesy I think. I'm just going to paint my calipers because I dislike the cast iron look. For your black 8, I'd personally recommend going with black caliper paint, but I also like subtlety. I'd prefer to keep the focus on my wheels, not my brakes. If you want to dress the calipers up a little bit, Polak makes some decals for calipers that people seem to really like.

Of course, it's your car so if you want to paint them yellow, go right ahead. Just don't use the Brembo covers!

ok... here is a couple of pics from local members... yes these are on an 8... and thankfully they are no longer on their cars

btw... Paint is a great Idea... I had mine painted before the BBK, Paint is easy to apply, Looks great, and updates the look of the car and is inexpensive

no... there is a couple of really good brush kits out there (I used Duplicolor's Kit) a lot of other members like the G2 Kit...

You can use spray, but make sure you tape everything off first.

woww, after seeing this thread i am completely sold on the 19" momos. Alucard your car is definitely pure sex. i was originally going to buy the R3 wheels for a hefty price but these are not only cheaper but damn, the strikingly bold silver look is eye candy.

question: i have the copper red shinka, what color rims do you guys think i should put on? black/silver or silver? i was leaning towards silver, but idkk. also, what color should i paint the calipers? i think im gonna do that first before the wheels arrive.

thanks guys!

I would say with the copper red, you should definitely go silver. As for the calipers, I went with black for mine, because I want to keep the focus on the wheel, not the brakes, especially because they're just the stock brakes. If I had a BBK, I would have wanted something more bold.

thanks for the response! yeah i think im gonna go with silvers.

so i got a price quote for the V-10 Silvers in 19x8 for $1000 shipped to new jersey, this does not include tires, i'm really lookin to spend maximum $1400-1500 for the wheels + tires, you guys think i'm getting jipped with the $1000? if i buy them now i'd have to get used tires to stay within my budget, however i was reading an earlier post in this thread of these wheels going for under $200 a piece.

if you don't mind me asking bro, how much was ur package yeahyeahyouwere?

My package for the 19x8 V-10s in silver with 235/35 Nitto NT555s was $1370, wheels came mounted and balanced. But I also got the wheels all at $70 off - they were only $150 apiece, rather than the standard $220. And I got a $50 online order discount as well. So honestly, $1k for 4 doesn't seem too far off - Discount Tire Direct usually has pretty good prices, and they've been sold out for a while now. You might try giving them a ring, just to be safe, and at the very least maybe they can let you know if they plan on re-stocking them or not.

I definitely got really lucky. It's kind of funny, I saw pictures of these wheels on here, and decided that I needed them. So I looked them up on a couple sites and decided they were just too expensive for me. This was on a Friday night. So the next day, I decided to punch them up one last time, and lo and behold, they had dropped the price per wheel by $70. With the $300 off, I decided I could make it happen and the rest is history. It still kind of blows me away that they would have put them on sale when they seemed to be selling well, but I know better than to question good fortune!

I would like to see a pic of the black and silver v10's on sunlight silver. I really want a set. But I'm going to have to replace my transmission first.
