Hey Fellow rx8rs,

Anybody here have the problem with brake rotors having to be replaced at 22,000 miles???

Dealer said out of spec.

Dealer wants 260 + "each" for new rotors.

If that is the case I might as well get some sloted or drilled rotors.

I need new tires also. I might as well say 2 grand for everthing.

Your thoughts appreciated?

Your not going like this but I have 95,000 miles on the original rotors.

 

i got 4 cross/slotted rotors for $340 (for all 4l, not $340 each)

 

Where did you pop those??

I saw something at rx7store about that price.

I only drive 7-8 miles a day to work (the daily) but it's city/subberb traffic.

I hope all of yours is highway miles.

I've owned my share of cars and this seems extreme.

mine were fine after 71k miles when i replaced them. not because they need it, but for lighter weight ones..

mine had to be replaced around 38K but i'm the second owner and that was all the first. couldn't tell you driving habits other than he lived in the 'burbs of philly and drove in each day.

 

I think about 30 hours of HPDE but I am not hard on the brakes. I drive my 8 to these events so don't drive it at the limit.
