Best Fit for 18X8.5 FNO1R-C

I apologize for adding yet another fitment question on but I searched all threads a discussion on this specific rim. Three questions:

1) Has anyone used an 18X8.5 5Zigen FNO1R-C rim with a 48 offset on their 8?

2) If so, what is the optimal tire size? I've concluded a 235/40/18 is best for that rim width but can I expect any rubbing problems?

3) Finally, will I experience any rubbing if I use the Tein STechs with the above fitment?

My thanks in advance.

good choice on wheels. a lot of people are running 245/40's on their stock rims, so....yeah....

you may want a slightly wider configuration. at least 245, i would say...my 245s are coming for my stock rims tomorrow!!! & rubbing should not be a problem.

I would recommend a slightly lower offset
For a 8.5" rim I would go with 255, but definetely not any higher.

Do you think I'll have any issues with the 48 offset (I believe them come in a 43 but I wasn't sure about the spoke dimensions/space)? Thanks for the size tip - I'll probably go 245.

A +48 offset on a wheel that size sounds like a fwd offset. I would expect you to look for something closer to the +42 range. I am running a +35mm offset on 18x8.5 with 245/40's.

48 is not at all specific to fwd...stock RX-8 offset is 50. 48 should work fine.

I'd go +43 as well. I'm running a 9" +40 and have no issues with a 245 tire. In theory a +35 should be your limit on a 8.5" wide wheel. so if you can get +43 go with that. Widen the wheel track. On another note, we are a distributor for 5zigen. If you're interested please contact me with the best price you've gotten so far and i'll see what i can do to better service you.

The stock tires will fit just fine--wait till its time for new tires then go with the 245s--thats my plan, I'm ordering new rims this weekend and plan on using the factory tires on 18x8.5 all around, but I just bought new Nittos last month--so I'm keeping them on there.

Yeah, you might want to be careful. I had a 8.5" rim with a +38mm offset and had to put a spacer in because it rubbed a caliper. I would go with either a 255/40/18 or for a more popular size a 245/40/18.

Okay here goes a thread resurection!

I need to know a definite answer as to whether a 18x8.5 +30mm offset will work with a modestly lowered (Tein H-Tech F-1" R-0.3") RX-8. Also what tire size should I be running?

My head is spinning from searching!

I know the wheel will stick out 26mm more than stock and will need 14mm more inner clearance but I don't know how this will interfer with fenders with the mild drop.

i would go with the 255/40/18 simply because it's almost exact with the stock wheel diameter.

i'm running 8.5" @ +38 with 245/40/18 and i'm pretty darn close to rubbing with no drop but it looks like some have run 19x9.5" at +40 lowered without an issue (https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=157234)

I'm running 245 on 18x8.5 wheels +35 offset, lowered on Tein S-Techs. No rubbing at all and it sits pretty flush.

Im running them in 8.5 225 up front and 9.5 255 in the rear. I DO NOT have springs, but I don't rub at all either.

Best price for them right now is here:

The best fit for an 18x8.5 FN01R-C is the garbage can.

SRSLY.

I'm running 18x9.5 +35 all around with 245/40R18 Dunlop Z1 tires. I will be switching to 255/40R18 tires in a few months when these wear out.

I have no rubbing issues at all. I'm on S-Techs.

Lesson of the day: Go big or go home.

dont worry you will not rub running +30 at all especially at 8.5 all around because i have 8.5 +30 in the front with 245 and 9.5 +34 in the rear with 275 and i only rub when my car is full. well i got my rear fenders rolled now and its not even hard or a bad thing to roll your fenders. i am thinking of selling my rims and go for a more aggressive offset soon too because i still dont think its aggressive enough.
