Axis Seven Mod Wheels

I just bought some wheels for my RX-8. They are 18in in the front, and 19in in the back. When I corner, or hit a dip my tires rub agains the rear fender because they are very wide in the rear. I've already tried to get the fenders rolled and tucked, but they said that it wouldn't accomplish much, if anything at all. I need help. All suggestions (if sane) are welcome. Thanks

Rolling the fenders could give you just enough room to clear. Why the 18"s in the front? 19"s all the way around would've been my choice, however, I do really like that wheel. I considered that wheel myself when I was looking.

BTW, the problem in the rear may not be the width of the rim, but more likely the offset.

Leave it to mdw33333 to be the one to help this guy out. I have to say you are a stand up sort of guy.

I like those rims as well. My question is WHERE are they rubbing?

They look great driver. You need a drop in the fron tbadly though. Your rubbing is in the rear outside or in?

is it rubbing on the inner guard or the outter guard. you many have to get the rear guards rolled to clear the outter guards. if it is on the inner guards, then you need to find out if you have enough room to fit spacers to give it more room.

or.... just go back to the shop and get them to get you the correct off set wheels for the rear.

Returning to the shop at which you purchased them and getting the correct offset makes the most sense to me. At my shop we are obligated to provide a correct fitment, and we do so or we don't sell you the wheels.

The rubbing is on the outside of the rear fenders, towards the exterior wall. The guy I bought them through said that they should be fine as long as I dont' have any one in the back seats. I think I might end up buying a pair of 19s for the front as well. I originally thought the staggered look would be awesome, but after seeing the actual wheels themselves the 19s look way better. Thank you for the imput!
