Tire size and weight
So I got my new rims in a little over a month ago and I'm looking at selling my stockers + tires and buying new tires for the new rims.
So first question is: how much should I expect the weight of the stock rims with tires to be? With the stock tires it seems like I should expect around 48-50 lbs, but I have S-03 pole positions in stock sizes. Should that be around the same weight or should it vary significantly? I ask because I'm going to need to have an estimate on how much shipping will be if I end up shipping them to someone.
Next question: what tire would suit me best? I'd say I frequently drive spiritedly around town, and I've been intending on going to a track, but always end up busy in some way or another. So there is a chance I'll use them for track, but mostly street use with spirited driving. I live in san antonio and am in houston occasionally so mostly dry, warm weather with occasional rains and hardly reach freezing temperatures in the winter. I do have a 55 shot of nitrous, which makes it easy to break the rear end loose. My rims are 18x8 in the front and 18x9 in the rear. I'm looking to keep the price in the range of $800. A little over might do, but preferably below that.
Any advice is much appreciated!

I'm guessing I should stick with the 225/45/18 in the front, but what about the rear? I'm trying to avoid the stretched look btw..

With that price your choices will be limited to knock off's if you want light, RPF1's are a little over 1K.
that might be the choice for you.
if your run 18x8 best size will be 245/40, 18x9 255/265 would be ideal for grip and speed, anymore high end speed might be lower.

OEM weight will be about 48lbs. Go with 18x9 all around, don't go staggered unless you want that look.

staggered setups are useless on this car.
for shipping, take the wheels to the ups store or wherever and tell them to give you the price, then take them home, and tell that price to the buyer.

2) I wish it was that easy, but at the moment, it aint. I dont have tires for my new rims, so I cant exactly just take my wheels off to go to the UPS store and have them weighed/shipping estimated. I -could- take one off, but I dont have the time, space or tools to do that reasonably, just to get the weight. I'm fine with estimating it and using the websites shipping cost estimator to get a general idea of how much it costs. If someone's giving me $600 for my rims, I'm not going to worry about +/- $20 (margin of error in the estimating process).
now that I've covered that, 255/265 is a good size in the back for the 9"? Would either be better, or about equal?

I believe 275 is where the rubber starts sticking out. You can also check out 17" rims, because there tends to be more choices readily available.
Just got myself some 17x8" RPF1s, and those cost $1000 brand new (got mine used painted satin black for $800 with some Azenis). If 1" isn't that big of a deal to you, you can save quite a boat load of cash by going 17". That, and all future tire purchases will be slightly cheaper, so it eventually pays for itself!
You can also check out good-win-racing (google it). He's pushing some serious prices on the RPF1s.

pirelli p zero nero 235/40/18 91Y is 23lbs, continental sport contact3 95Y 235/40/18 is 21 lbs, michelin ps2 235/40/18 95Y is 22lbs.oz ultraleggeras 18x9 are 19lbs. those are between 40 and 42 lbs total per wheel.8-6 lbs less than stock.pretty good difference.

Haven't had the money for it yet... probably going to be getting them in the next month hopefully. I probably could have got them but it's probably better that I waited to see what things are going to look like in the next month. I'll hopefully have them mounted before christmas time but if not, then shortly after. I'm glad I at least got an idea of what to get... found the T1r... discount tire and another site said they didnt come in the sizes I needed but then there was another couple sites that had it listed. So unless I come across a great deal (like my S-03 pole positions for $125 each) it'll probably be a month or so...
