Anthracite SSR comps on red rx8

Just got them yesterday from myrx-8yourcar. I put them on my car this morning. I think they look great.

from the pic I can see the tire sidewalls curbed. why?

something about our stock 18's: they look bigger than 18, all aftermarket 18" wheels look smaller

Perhaps it has something to do with the wider "spokes" on the stock rims?
