Another Black 8 w/ New Rims

3 Attachment(s)
This is the 3rd or fourth post I've seen where a black 8 gets new wheels this week....well here's mine. It took forever to find a set of wheels I liked. I am really happy w/ the look and they feel great on the car.

HP EVO 18's in silver....8's in front, 9's in back.....BF G-force KDW2 rubber...

TXRX has a similar setup on his titanium grey...I liked the look of his so much, I went out and picked up a set....so thanks, TXRX

***edit***

offset is 38mm..there is clearance and they stick out just enough...pics taken in front of new development for rich people. I wanted to drive onto that grass, but thought that would be too much. :p

CASANOVA 03-27-2005 11:03 AM

Looks good,I love that fat lip on the wheels. Whats the offset?

RXRob 03-27-2005 11:05 AM

Looks sweet. Where were them pics taken at?

GotZoom 03-27-2005 11:14 AM

Love the look. I have always liked mesh rims. I am trying to decide between the evos and the Konig Imagine's.

Thanks for the pics.

TR1GGERx1 03-27-2005 12:06 PM

Texas 8 03-27-2005 12:45 PM

Nice!

brothervoodoo 03-27-2005 12:47 PM

English, look's good on the black and I remember seeing them on the gray too. That's a nice looking rim.

mrtux 03-27-2005 03:32 PM

they flow well with the strakes and front grill

mikeb 03-27-2005 03:39 PM

nice choice there

cgrx 03-27-2005 04:04 PM

love the lip

Mindtrip 03-27-2005 04:31 PM

Looks good! Is the car lowered at all?

English 03-27-2005 05:01 PM

Thanks guys...I took a ride a while a go...and it is pretty sweet. I kept on turning around to look at it (like always, but a bit more) when I was walking away....

Yes...I have eibach springs in there. Like some others, I would like the front to come down a bit more asthetically, but it's acceptable. The 'normal' ride quality is fine, but you feel the car give/sway a bit less turning in, then wanna rebound faster on exit.

:D TPMS DOES fit on these :D

TxRx8 03-27-2005 05:58 PM

Fuck Yeah! :D Good job dude. They look better on your car man! I'm envious. :p

Jdunsh 03-27-2005 09:37 PM

Looks good man, I just asked someone to photochop those onto a black 8 the other night, I guess that won't be neccesary now.

Mindtrip 03-27-2005 09:45 PM

Speaking of chopping, can anyone put those onto a blue 8.....PLEASE!

Ike 03-27-2005 09:46 PM

I like the stockers better, but I'm not a fan or mesh wheels nor lighter colored wheels on a black car. Glad you found something you like though :D

czr 03-28-2005 10:00 AM

Love the look. Third pic looks hot.

A couple tint questions if you don't mind. What % tint all-around and how long is the tint on the windshield(And what's the limit for FL)? Haven't been here too long and am about to get mine tinted soon. TIA

LucasET 03-28-2005 11:05 AM

IMO, those would look good on any color. Looks really great with the drop...classy. I'm actually thinking (still) about 5Zigen Heidfelds.

foxman 03-28-2005 12:52 PM

looks sharp, very clean

Pete 03-28-2005 12:58 PM

very nice rims ... good job !

TheColonel 03-28-2005 01:03 PM

How much did you pay for those?

jenkins-crew 03-28-2005 01:18 PM

Very nice man!!! Wish I had a deeper lip on mine.

English 03-28-2005 05:11 PM

Tint is just a shade darker than legal in FL. Front band is also a bit longer than legal in FL. I have had much darker tint on other cars, but have had no probs (yet). Tint is necessary in Florida, so get it as dark as you can. Pay cash, no receipt, and get it dark.

Wheelguyz.com sold me the set of wheels. They were fast & friendly and knew their sh*t. Tire Rack guys helped out with the tires. I don't notice the noise others have complained about.

I love the big fat lip too!

rotaryred 03-28-2005 11:36 PM

Why is everybody copying meeeeeeeee

Dude post pics of your ride. I've never seen it. I bet the wheels look good on red too. :D

jaehyun127 03-29-2005 10:39 AM

i love these rims... but the only thing holding me back from these is the weight difference. How much heavier are they compared to stock?? I want the same offset and size rims you have! I love it!

So please give me some ideas on weight...

TxRx8 03-29-2005 10:50 AM

Mine weighed in at 22lb's without tires I think.

English 03-29-2005 08:21 PM

Weight was not a concern for me with these rims. But...total FEDEX weight on PKG with both 9's was estimated @ just over 50 lbs. I will use the stockers with the stock rubber for 1-2 more track days, then switch over to a better rubber for that use. I transferred TPMS to the new ones, and will just use them for cruising. I will put up with the TPMS flashing for track days, but can't see why I should purchase ugly, lightweight wheels for the track, then use the burned out stock rubber for driving....does that make sense?

***edit***

I think the only thing I'm losing is a pair of large tires that I won't want to transfer to the stock wheels when they are 'done'...but since I won't drive like a maniac with those, they should last longer.

Jdunsh 04-02-2005 12:14 AM

These rims are so nice I had to come back for a second look. I likes.
