Lol what?
Who said anyone's setup is better than others? Aggressive fit threads are done on tons of forums, with plenty of success. This one looks like it's hit a wall though... |

If you didn't have to at the very LEAST roll your fenders to get your setup to work, its not aggressive..:banghead::lol2: |
I run 18X10.5's with no fender mods......
Don't understand why you want to be more aggressive :) |
whats your suspension setup?
|
KW v3's dropped to 26ish inches
front camber -2.5 rear 1.6 275/35/18 tires |

Ok then, explain to me how this setup will work if you dont plan on just driving down the street and back? Yeah, if you ran extreme camber and liked replacing tires every 1000 miles, you can run this ET. However, to me, this "doesn't fit". So enlighten me, how would you make this setup work?

easy run 205 35's....
I would pay you money to stretch 205's on a 9.5" wheel. In other words (and to repeat myself), IT DOESN'T FIT. /rant |

that's actually a common stretch if you go on zilvia, or old school VW forums. I've seen a 175 on a 12" wheel, I think I posted that in the will it fit thread a long ass time ago. |
wow......just........wow

agressive fitment means different things to different forums, here its proper offset, wide, no larger than 18 usually, i proper track set up instead of a show car stance. Most other car forums are ridiculuous offset, camber, height, etc. Most of them should be aggressive wheels that don't fit threads.
|
It's still Dumb ;)
This thread is getting really Dumb too :) Tire manufacturers have guidelines for tire/rim sizes for a reason......It's called SAFETY To condone this type of thing is blatantly UNSAFE and DANGEROUS I'm sorry if I sound like someones parent...but this is getting ridiculous :( |
Agree 100%. The car we drive is meant to be driven hard (auto-x, track, what have you) not some show car driving down the street that cant take a turn at more than 20 mph without ripping the fender off.

I tend to agree with the comments about stretching being unsafe. however drifting competition tends to use extreme stretches without issue. they seem to work the stretched tyres very hard with lots of hp and direction changes. it doesn't appear to be a regular occurrence them un-beading the stretched tyres :dunno:

Aggressive is aggressive... That changes not, doesn't matter what car its on. I believe the word many are looking for is "extreme." If you have a really wide rim with a high offset that isn't flush with your fenders, it may be "extreme" in the fact you have such a wide wheel setup, but aggressive has to do with looks. Don't matter how wide it is, if the offset is wrong and it looks like a regular sized setup then it doesn't look aggressive.. Not that it matters to me either way lol. |

a little stretch is one thing, this is just dumb .... :wink2: The reason it looks so much is because of the low profile. T-Rex's setup could also considered the same amount of "dangerous" do to the manufacturer's recommended width. The idea of this thread was to see other aggressive setups, not hear from those who have never run stretched setups (and for good reason, you all think its foolish!). Criticizing is one thing, blatantly down talking without trying out both sides of the block is thickheaded ignorance. Great, we've heard from all of you how stupid, silly, dumb, "retarded", life threatening, world ending, and potentially apocalyptic stretching tires may be. Will that stop any of us form doing it? Nope. I'll tell you what, find someone who has walked both sides of the track, see what they have to say. In the mean time, keep the blind opinions to yourselves. With response to the reliability of stretched tires. Check out zilvia (Yes, that 240 forum led blindly by drifting kids who know nothing) and then see how relatively mild these setups are. Actually, scratch that, you'll all most likely criticize their stupidity as well... To each his own; For the record, I'm a fan of square AND stretched tires, as well as everything in between. Done both setups, enjoyed them for different reasons. Oh yeah, rotarenvy - you've got the idea... |

I mounted a set of 195's on a 10" wide wheels using propane....so don't tell me I've never done it.....but I think it's unsafe and stupid because all 4 of those tires failed due to sidewall failure.
They look cool..but if they get warm at all they demount in a catastrophic way Each to his own....but people reading this thread need to know that it is not safe! |

For the hell of it. Its fun doing things a bit different and challenging oneself. Different strokes for different folks! I'll soon be close to that - 265's :) I tried out 18x10.5 +2 for the hell of it but thought it a bit over the top!
For sure...the hell of it is always a good reason..you must be young ;) But we know that they didn't FIT  Don't even have to think about that one..they would have been sticking out about 2 inches past the fender lip even on a max rolled lip |
