Aftermarket wheel question.....

I've been thinking of purchasing a set of aftermarket wheels for the 8 and am having the 18" vs 19" debate in my head. I don't want to add weight, but love the way the 19's fill up the rear wheelwell. My question is: Has anyone put 19's on the rear and 18's in the front? That way I can go with an 8 or 8.5 width in the front and keep my front tires (thereby saving me some $$) and since I was planning on going with a staggered setup anyway. I can just do the 19's in the back.

What do you all think?

TIA

I wouldn't go keeping your front tires unless you put the same brand of tires with the same level of wear on the back...otherwise one pair of wheels, either front or back, will be gripping better than the other...maybe it wouldn't be a big deal, maybe it would...i say just spend the $400 it would cost to get two new front tires to go with the two new back tires...you could probably get that much for your stock rims anyway...

if anything, I find the front wheel wells to look like they need to be lowered/filled out more than the rears.

Don't know if anyone has this set up already, but the problem with this is you can no longer rotate.

I'm not too worried about this anyway, because if I do a staggered setup I can't rotate either. I was just wondering about the look. Don't want the back to look nice and stuffed and have the front look "weird" if you know what I mean.

At this point maybe I'll just stick with 18's all around. I told myself I wanted to keep the weight down anyway.

What will the different tire diameters do to the anti-lock? I had to pull the fuse my GTI if I put the 1" smaller spare tire on.
