Aftermarket Sway Bars - Which one will feel closest to MS?
Since the MS Sways are so much more expensive, I'm looking at the other options which are Racing Beat and tanabe. Now I will likely get the MS springs and shocks, and I assume those have been tuned for the MS sways. I'm not into mixing and matching, so I'm trying to figure out which sway will feel the closest. I'm not sure how the diameter vs. thickness affects things. I collected the following data on all the sways and I'm trying to see what I can learn from it. I would appreciate any thoughts.
Sway Bars Front Thickness Rear Thickness
Stock 27.0 3.4 16.0 2.5
RB 32.0 4.8 19.0 3.2
MS 27.2 4.0 17.3 2.6
Tanabe 30.4 NA 20.0 NA

dont forget a sway bar is just a spring that loads in torsion- you can choose simply by diameter and mounting point. the bushings and endlink design might be better on one or another, but there is no magic here.
it is much more important to make sure there is no pre-load on the bar. that is, when the car is on a level, flat surface, the bar is not twisted at all.
