after 3 months RIMS

first i'd like to thank jon to get this shipped out. i've had a rough time getting rims for numerous reasons. axis hiros were out of stock/backordered and ssr sp1s were out for bankruptcy, so i've settled with these.

i want to get them powdercoated gunmetal with a polished lip to flow with the grey trim of the ms speed kit, but i might just keep it bronze.

whatcha guys think?

bronze will look good but I think the gunmetal polished idea would be hot!

why are they stamped 5 x 100?

can you throw one on an acurate scale and post some size weight figures?

Nice color, but I wouldn't keep it bronze on the 8 unless you plan on changing the color on all the accents on the car--mixing the chrome look with the bronze just isn't right.

sweet rims...but gunmetal with a polished lip might be hard to do cause its a 1 piece wheel...i'd keep them in bronze...

im not too sure what the 5x100 is...but the bolt pattern isnt 100? i'll try and find a scale sometime next week, i am also curious on how much they weigh

i got bronze because that was all that was left...here's a pic of what i'd like to try:

Wait a second...

1) You waited 3 months to get rims, and you didn't get the exact ones you wanted.. so you went Bronze?

2) 5x100? Our 8 is 5x114.3 You sure that will fit?

3) Like Xdeed said.. it's a One piece rim, going to be hard to get it like the above picture. Not sure if it's even possible.

I have waited about a month now awaiting my Volks... the guy said 2 months wait. Did you special order these to have to wait 3 months?

the rim has holes for 5 x100 but they're not nessisarily the drilled ones. looks like they have a different load rating when they are 5x100 since the rims are stamped with 5x100 520kg and on another part of the rim VIA 690kg.

any rim repair shop can polish the lip. the masking is harder to do between the spokes but not so bad on this design.

I'd say keep them bronze. Those rims on a black 8 would look awesome!

1) bronze was the only left alternative. i needed rims badly my tires were gonna pop any moment. wanted to do them all at once.

2) im not too sure...tho on the box and the sticker behind the wheel it says 114.3

3) i brought it to a shop...they said they could mask and have it done.

A polished lip won't be possible because it is 1 piece wheel.... the other CE28 in question you have a pic of has a machined lip which you will likely not be able to duplicate from your bronze CE28's...masking or not

I love the bronze personally..i say stick with them... great wheels

On a black, bronze isn't bad. I've seen Bronze on Black RX-8 before.. on any other colors, it's pretty bad.

What tires did you get? And is the setup staggered?

Waited 8 months from ordering them? Or waited 8 months searching for them? I would think it would take 2 months tops to get special ordered rims.

If you want to be crazy, keep it bronze and polish the lip.
