ADR 18" rims that weigh 15 lb's

Ok , my friend has ADR 18" rims that weigh 15 lb's , considering the stock rims are ~20 pounds , is this worth it to move to ADR rims ... I heard that they are crappy ? , anyways, I don't know the name of the ADR rims , but when my friend got them shipped , UPS said they were 15 pounds .... weird .. I thought some of the lightest 18" rims were 15 pounds

Actually, I think the stock rims are 23 Lbs, not 20 Lbs each. Just FYI.

that can't be right, unless it's made of Magnesium, 18" won't be merely 15 lbs. Stock rx7 16" weight about that alone.

I read the box from the shipping company and it said 15 pounds , unless the shipping company's weights are messed up , iono what else to think.

some shops list the weight under to get cheeper freight. the freight company is too bussy to check every package so they only weight it if it seems to heavy when moving it.
well that is what happened when I bought some diskbrakes for an upgrade on my last car. they paid for 20kg of freight but it was closer to 40kg!

SSR Comps 18X8 are 15.4 lbs. (according to Tirerack.com) use some sort of properitary semi-solid forging process. No exotic metals, i.e. Magnesium, used. From what I've read, SSR makes some strong and lightweight wheels

isn't it 23 with tires? and 19 without? haha different facts here. adrs are a good way to save on the pocket book. if there is weight savings with the rims and they look good i don't see why you shouldn't get them. ADR isn't that bad of a brand but they sure aren't the best though.

Boy it would be very challenging to find a 4 lbs. tire that is in an acceptable condition for use.

Tire are like 23 lbs already, check the Bridgestone website.
