Is +60mm offset too much for the rx-8?

I'm looking to get some used mazda6 17" rims and they look to have +55 - +60mm offset. I know that stock rx-8s are +50mm. Would that mean the mazda6 rims might be too much?

stock 6 wheels? it'll be sucken in a lot more. I wouldn't do it. Most 6 owners would take our wheels, why take theirs?

OK OK... let me preface the question as in, using the stock 6 rims for winter duties. Will it fit as theirs are around +55 - +60.

inboard clearance should be fine, but you need to be very concerned about brake caliper clearance with the spokes, especially on the front

offset alone can't provide this answer

You could always use a 5-10mm spacer to give more clearance for the caliper.

he just needs to make sure the spokes don't touch the caliper. all depends on the spoke design.
