2in lowering kit....

I believe I have a 2in lowering kit on my 06 RX8 Auto. I bought the car with this on here. I need to know how to find out what kind it is. And with lowering kits on these cars is it just the coil springs that are replaced to lower the car? Or is there more than just springs on it? I need to replace it with stock susp. I dont need the loering kit. Its acctually my wifes car and she scraps bottom everywhere we go. And with the lowering kit we have to have a camber to fit the 19's that are on it. Its costing alot in tires. Dont need it. She dont drive it hard enough to need it anyway. So how do i know what kind it is and what are the parts involed with lowering the car? Thanks much for the help. Fast resonse would be helpful. I need to replace it quick. Tires are showing wires and im not buying new rubber just to tear it up. Thanks!!!

it was lowered by:

1. replacement springs
2. replacement springs and struts
3. coilovers

Take off a wheel and snap some pics of what's there. Clean it up if it's dirty and post some pics, i'm sure someone will have an idea. If you see anything with a label make sure to take a pic of the label or write down what it says.

Going back to stock is just a matter of replacing the aftermarket stuff with stock struts and springs. If it's a coilover setup then there's a good chance you can just dial it back up to stock height .

But tongiht i will take a wheel off and take some pictures. it might be some late night pictures becasue i dont get off work till 8. But i will get the best pictures i can. Thanks so much for the help.

Located NE Oklahoma. And I really got the felling that who ever owned this car before. Didnt take care of it. And did not do any of the mods right. The Carbon Fiber hood is fading, Rides really rough. The bottom is scrapped up. The sound system is crap. And has to be re-done. And i mainly want to take the suspention to stock if i can.

Missed that, and yes cutting the bump stops would make the problem worse. My statement was more of an observation, didn't mean to sound like that was the prob. Just shows the lack of a quality install.

I noticed that too but it's a good thing, it will make going back to OEM springs easier.

Not sure how long they have been on car though. I have only put about 5k on the car. They go for about 250 per spring.

Also. One more question. How well would 19in rims fit on stock susp? Or should i go to 18s? Just hate have to buy another set of rims. These look damn good on this car. But if i should go down in size, i will.

Not sure how much you could get out of the springs because they look defective. Springs are not supposed to bind like that...

And 19" will look fine on stock suspension.

$250.00 per spring? Maybe for the whole set but those are shot, they are worthless.

check with your local dealership or one of the many vendors on the forums. You could also put up a request in the parts wanted section and see if someone local has a set. I gave my stocks away when I went to the mazdaspeed strut/spring set up.

gf210's cost $200 for a whole set, so that is $50 PER spring.

if they were new and/or in good condition, of which yours are unfortunately - not.

Those springs are worthless. Also, those don't drop the car 2 inches. Maybe 1.25 to 1.5 inches, but thats it.

Sprint currently makes the lowest drop springs at an advertised 2" drop, but its more like a 2.25 to 2.5 inch drop.

I was just going off birds eye view before i got on here and started searching it a little more. Im not really famalier with the RX8 family. Im more into the MX-3 family. But always loved the looks of the RX8. So I bought my wife one. We bought it the way it was. Only thing changed was the title. So like I said before i was only going off just looking at the car and other rx8's. I figured 2in. Was not sure. And as for the springs that are on it. They will be tossed. I was only asking the question of what they might be worth. And as for saying 250 per spring. I was going off andysautosport.com I think I posted a link to it previously. But as for just getting the suspension taken care of i thik i got it. I will be getting springs soon and will have everything back to normal. And I really cant wait to have it all back to normal. But thanks guys so much for all the help and advise. One day i will know more about these cars.
