What did that setup end up costing you? Did you have to roll your fenders? |
Are these the correct size for the rx8? Looking to purchase spacers in the next couple days, any help would be appreciated. If anybody has any recommendations on some solid spacers, that would be good as well.

^ Yes those are correct.

I did not have to roll my fenders, but keep in mind that I have coilovers so I adjusted my previous suspension height to accomodate for the spacers. I get very slight rubbing when i hit some large bumps in the road. But only the hard bumps, doesn't happen on everyday driving. The rubbing doesn't seem to be too bad as I dont feel any wear on my plastic fender wall. I will take a closer look when I swap out to my winters in a month or 2. |
I get rubbing when i corner hard or hit large bumps.
One big downside I have encountered (may or may not be from the drop+spacers) is my sway bar end links had too much strain on them are failed. They are making A LOT of noise and I have a new set on order. |
Hi to all!!!
I haved read this and other posts but not completly sure. I have a 2006 RX8 with OEM wheels, tires, shocks and springs (just RB sway bars). I don't want any rubbing in any condition and a completly bolt-on application (no stud, fender or wheel modification). Just install and go. 20 or 25mm?? Any pics with the OEM setup (or link me to one)? I know there are a few pics here but want to be sure it's with OEM setup. Tks for any help or clearing out doubts. |
Not sure you are going to find pics of a completely stock 8 with just spacers, but regardless, 25mm should do you just fine.

Just weighted the Ichiba's 25mm with 5 nuts and hub...Exactly 2lbs each.
|
quick question. I have 25mm spacers on with my oem rim/tires. I need to remove them in the next few days. Is it okay to use an impact gun with an extended socket ?? Or is a breaker bar necessary ??
I just dont want damage anything. I do not have a breaker bar at the moment. |
Impact is fine for removal, just take it slow.
|
alright thanks brother

Has anyone ever weighed a single 25 or 20mm spacer yet? Even if not what do u guys think a ballpark estimate is? (1,2,3,4,5 Pounds?)
|
I tried to find what amount of torque should I use to tighthen the nuts on my Ichiba's. maybe I missed it but read almost all threads regarding spacers but don't remember if I saw this detail. The plastic bags inside the box say Max. 80ponds. Any suggestion? Tks
|
80-90 should be perfectly fine. You can go up to the recommended mazda spec of 105 if necessary.

Nice, I painted my stock rims, but I figure I'll go with 20mm after reading this thread, don't want to rub with 25mm.
|
Has anyone tried 30mm spacers before?

why would you think that the OP used anything other than 25mm spacers, in a thread titled "25mm spacers"?

Keeping this thread alive..
Its funny how during this whole thread, not a single post mentions which hub bore you need to get. Of course, with my luck, I go and buy quality Eibach spacers and they don't fit... The ones I bought: Attachment 289351 These won't fit on the hub. Ok, lack of research led me here and I'm going to eat it. Why no talk of hub size is mentioned in this thread still confuses me.. Oy vey. So, i'm going to get custom ones made by these guys: http://www.motorsport-tech.com I enter in that I have a 2004 RX-8 and it spits this out: ********************* 2004 MAZDA RX-8 Your Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3mm Your Hub Diameter: 67.1mm ********************* Type: Spacer Hub Centric to Car Only Thickness: 25mm ********************* So if the hub diameter of our cars in 67.1mm, its obvious why the spacers I bought don't fit (being only 60mm). Going through their "wizard", it then asks me this: SELECT CENTER BORE Please enter the Center Bore of your new wheels. The wheel manufacturer can supply this information, or you can measure them or have them measured by a machine shop. They are typically measured using a micrometer, and the measurement is to the hundred thousandth. It is essential that you submit a precise measurement to us so that we can machine your spacers to perfection. Apparently i'm the only one who is confused by all of this over the course of this thread so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. |
You should have searched, it's common knowledge. Why not just have the Eibachs bored out?
|
Here is another local I talked into 25mm spacers on stockers :)

The wheel will be the same as the hub. Mazda wanted them to match just like you do.
^255mm spacers? lol |
What you talkin' bout Willis? :suspect:

Also, you might want to look up the meaning of "common knowledge". I suppose I could do that; bit easier said than done however. Machine shops? |
Any machine shop can bore them out easily. It should not cost more than a few bucks.

rickeo: Hi. Maybe this could help. I have the Ichiba V2 for almost a year...perfect. This was and old post regarding this spacers. Might help you.
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...51#post4132851 "25mm spacers with complete OEM setup -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It took me a while to read all threads related to spacers. It was a little difficult to find info and pics regarding a complete OEM car with 25mm spacers. Here is all the info you need and pictures if you plan to do this mod on a stock RX8: 1. Ichiba V2 25mm (WS-5511467C): Complete bolt-on, no mods, oem wheel fit perfectly, with center hub (included) and 80 pounds of torque. 2. Bought through Work Concepts (Eric: info@worksconcepts.com): Friendly and great service. 3. Rubbing or vibrations: Nothing so far, at least with half-full tank and my wife in the back. 4. Flush: Perfect for a stock application (At least for me) 5. Alignment: -1.15 Camber all around with a touch of toe-in in the rears and toe-out in the fronts 6. Pics: Attached Thumbnails" |
