Hey What's up guys.

We finally got our rotors over here. I got these specially made in this color, but we will be stocking them in a Black Anodize to suit the majority of interest.

I'll load up some more pics of the rotors themselves. I'm waiting for the first five sets to come in. Should be within a month.

I'll setup a Preorder thread once I can post all the hard data on rotor weight and so forth. I'll link you guys to our subforum.

I just love how they go with my calipers so well. Just luck of the draw.

No it would just be stock size. I'm sure it can be done but would require a minimum qty.

What caliper were you intending to use with the larger rotor? STock and new caliper bracket?

What kind of track were you running on that you were getting fade from the stock setup? Or did you do this just for unsprung weight? How much weight does the setup save?

The Endless Calipers on stock rotors was an amazing amazing upgrade. I've been lagging on doing a write up on the simple caliper mod and how it changed my braking response completely. Now with the slotted two piece rotors my initial bite has only improved.

I haven't had the opportunity to test these rotors with stock calipers since I already had upgraded mine. I didn't have a chance to weigh the rotors because we were rushed to get them on the car for Rotaryfest over here. I know when picking them up it was SIGNIFICANT. Especially the rear rotor. They came totally last minute. Like I mentioned above I'll post up all the specs and data as soon as I get the other pieces. It should be real soon. I been working on this for about 4 months now.

I did it for multiple reasons. I did it to reduce both unsprung weight and rotating mass for my drive wheels. I intend to retain mine as a N/A rotary and will be willing to pickup horses wherever I can. The rotors for the rear as well as my lightened flywheel proved to be quite enjoyable. This is my luxury rotary to say the least. I'm sure the factory system with braided lines, good fluid, and good pads will work just fine but I know these will work better. To tell you the truth I don't only get enjoyment when working the brakes hard, I get a grin whenever I even tap the pedal. The response is so crisp and there's seriously something about Endless' brake pads that is just amazing. All the bite, none of the "harshness" or "abrasiveness".

The stock brake is amazing but I am sure Rishie ones will be better. Stock one is only one piston caliper and they are no way better than an even 6 pot application. I have been wearing off the inner pads more than the outer pad on the track not happy.

Even my AP Racing 4 pot with Project Mu rotor and Project Mu pads are better than stock *(way better). I am sure Rishies are even better.

let me know when you get the specs and the group buy together, I'm interested if there is a significant weight savings over stock for the rotors. Also if there's a weight savings with the endless calipers as well.

I will definitely post up the info as soon as I get it. I am just too lazy to take mine off again just to weigh them.

I'm gonna sell these first five as front and rear sets only. It's just the way we had to get it started, but after this you can purchase them in separate pairs.

My Endless calipers were also much much lighter than stock. I'll see if I can find my stock calipers to weigh them. I already have data on the calipers.

I'm confused. You're concerned with rotating mass and unsprung weight...but you're running giant wheels.

You'd have far more effective use of your hard earned $$$ if you dropped down to lighweight 17's then trying to run lighter 18/19's and pumping tons of cash into brake rotors.

Remember, the closer the weight is to the hub, the less effective the weight loss is. (in terms of unsprung weight). On the other side, the further away the weight is, the more detrimental the effect of weight. The further you push the tire away from the hub, the worst the effect.

ie its basically more effective to run a smaller sized rim, with near or slightly less factory weight, then to pump thousands into dropping 10 lbs off giant rims. The 17 will still require less effort to turn. It's actually a shame the rx8 can't run the FD 16x8 wheels...would be perfect for this car.

I understand 17's don't look at "hot" or "bling" as larger wheels...but don't try to rationalize you care about unsprung weight or rotational mass if you put on upsize clown shoes. You care about appearance.

I understand completely the physics of all which you mentioned.

However because of our involvement in the industry and our objective of marketting products we import we needed to go a little above and beyond on our RX8. As I mentioned this is my luxury rotary.

I have four FC's that are built or being built for different types of racing.

My 19's are light relatively speaking for a Forged Two Piece wheel. Like I mentioned, luxury rotary. Lost power with bigger wheels and tires but am looking to pick it back up wherever I can.

If it really makes people feel better I'll just say, I did it for the looks. LOLZ!!!!! The performance additions are just a side benefit for me.

What you guys should be asking is what size wheels and tires you will be running and that will only help more.

I've posted this thread more to inform guys who will have a use for these rotors for show or race purposes. THey will suit both. I'm definitely not posting this up for advice or contraversy.

My RX8 is definitely not a race car for me. We have a Miata, AE86, coupe of S13's and a S14 that we'll use for those purposes. Consider the RX8 my BALLER daily driver that we abuse on the streets and still take to shows.

I've also got a Tripoint Widebody FC as well we're doing a changeover on right now.


And then one more that's being put together. A complete RE-A FC2K with a 4 Port N/A 13B hoping to do about 240whp. It will look like this:


So in short the RX8 is just my daily driver that passes smog and has warranty. I need it to represent all our products in the fullest so that we can sell them.

Oh I do appreciate your comments, don't get me wrong. It's good that people bring up the physical aspects of these things in regards to moment of inertia and rotating mass.

the rotors are nice and will be interested in pickin up a set, i also want to get the endless calipers but cant find anyone who sells them down in Florida. How much and where did you get them? I have Goodridge lines and Motul brake fluid already. I also just got my Advans and it would look alot better if i changed out the brakes. My RX8 is also blue, it would be nice to match them up like you did if possible. any how definately want the rotors so lemme know.

Ya totally. My 8 is a complete hipocracy. If I were to track the car I would definitely change my setup for some lighter wheels.

If you're interested in the rotors I can do a special order for you on the blue. I just happened to only get blacks as I thought it would be the most common. What car?

I weighed my stock rotors today, had 11k miles on them.

STOCK w. 11k miles:
Front: 17.2 lbs.
Rear: 12.0 lbs.

I'll weigh the two piece ones shortly here. We're in the process of moving so I should be able to get them shipped to our new location shortly. I can then post more technical data.
