19x10 +20 no stretch, no rubbin. *PICS*
I have made a few previous threads in which people have trolled about the choice I made in wheel. My wheels dont rub at all.
18x8.5 +30 in the front, 255/40 tires, -2 camber, toe is 0 19x10 +20 in the rear, 275/35 tires, -5 camber, toe is 0 Tein S-techs, Koni Yellows, Megan Racing upper control arms Fenders rolled and pulled to perfection, not even noticeable. Rear wheels are tucked. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...8/IMG_1613.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...8/P1030248.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...8/P1030249.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...suspension.jpg |
looks good, some epic camber in the rear
|
Congrats on running a ridiculous amount of negative camber. You really showed us.
|
lol gunna hate to see what the wear pattern is on those tires after a couple thousand miles

...and whats wrong with camber? You cant have aggressive fitment like that without camber. I could have easily just stretched tires on and ran -2 or -3 degrees but I hate the look of stretched tires. |

See above.
Too much negative camber and you'll eat through tires, kill the suspension geometry and jack up the handling. Other than that, nothing. |
You should look into coilovers to pull off an aggressive stance to match your aggressive wheel size.
It looks like your rear can use another pull and that way you can eliminate some of the camber. |
So you didn't want to run stretch but willing to run stupid camber? LOL
BTW your lip is barely hanging on... |

What's the downside to negative camber? Negative camber leans both tires on the axle towards the center of the vehicle. Each tire develops an equal and offsetting "camber thrust" force (the same principle that causes a motorcycle to turn when it leans) even when the vehicle is driven straight ahead. If the vehicle encounters a bump that only causes one tire to lose some of its grip, the other tire's negative camber will push the vehicle in the direction of the tire that lost grip. The vehicle may feel more "nervous" and become more susceptible to tramlining. Excessive camber will also reduce the available straight-line grip required for rapid acceleration and hard stops |

Congratulations on doing something that not only looks stupid, but actually is stupid - destroying the primary positive attribute of the RX-8: its handling. |

As for coilovers, I am buying a pair of stance coilovers soon, will install them in the spring when I'm back from school. As for now, I have one last show this saturday and I'm off to California in a week, then back to the Chicago for school. So the car will be garage bound until may ha. Even with the camber like this, the tires will probably last me years because the car gets driven 100 miles a week and only in the summer. Honda Pilot dd ftw. |
throw the car on stands if you plan on going away for months .... tires will be all kinds of fuxored with that camber sitting without movement
|
For some reason it looks like your rear passenger side looks alot higher than your right side.
But anyways it looks alright. People have pulled off way more aggressive set ups than this lol (tilt) |

Well...I run 10.5" X 18" rims on the rear with 275 tires and don't rub, don't run stupid camber.....and they fit cause I have the correct offset wheels...DUH

If its a show car why do you have Rotas?

and I dont know what you're talking about with that? The lip is very on. secured properly and sits flush with bumper. If you're looking at the part that cuts into the airdam space, its supposed to be like that, it narrows the opening... dumbass.
I don't see any gaps in these like yours... It's a good thing you are going back to school dumbass. http://image1.shopserve.jp/burnout-w...img/kd4c_1.jpg http://image1.shopserve.jp/burnout.y...bo/kd42f_1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/P1030249.jpg |
They're not Rotas....
|
Also, clearly not the same lip. That one is much thinner than mine. Same style I guess? But not the same lip.... and it saddens me that you have to much time on your hands ha.

Good luck with your "show winning" car. It's funny how I have free time to be on the forums and so are you at night? Please stop embarrassing yourself. |
Doesn't look too bad, but like previously said, there goes the handling. To each their own though.
|
Don't listen to those haters...lol
Anyway, your car looks good though...to each, their own ;) |
Those are XXR's guys they are WAY better than Rotas.

Two carbon-fiber-esque pieces is not a show car.:lol2: |
a 275 tire with -5 deg camber on an RX-8 is equal to having a 155 tire at the proper camber setting, congratulations on taking one step forward and two steps back ..
|
damm clean ass car bro! love the rotas, replica lip, gap in the front, different color eyelids, and that baller natural lean ur car has to the driver side! boss! well executed!
:squint: :dragster: see what i did there... |
Let's see how long this thread gets.

lulz. haters gun hate.. i dig except the different wheel sizes and the front could have been more aggressive, but other than that, nice. and i'm looking forward to the coils! car will look much much better.
|
That looks fantastic. You really showed me. I was obviously wrong that it wasn't going to fit correctly. roflofloflfolfoflfol

^
|
I saw a minivan last last week that had the same "aggressive" wheel fitment... but it was still a minivan:smoker:
Maybe we (I) just don't "get it." OP - What made you want to go with this much camber? |

Nice job on buiilding the ultimate troll mobile, I guess you were calling people out from the get go as you knew your car and it's multitude of flaws was going to get flamed pretty badly....that or you just didn't know any better. :o: |

Well no, actually a "hater" spews out nonsense unprovoked. I don't see any "haters" in this thread, now if this guy had a sick ass car with all the trimmings and a few guys here and there were baggin' on it then yes, that would be "hating", but instead we get called "broke ass" and such without provocation....sooo who's the hater here then? :dunno:

Being totally honest, if that car won a trophy I wouldn't be proud of it. Either no one else entered or it was like little league and they give out trophies to everyone. That last guy you quoted had his car at SEMA. Nice choice.

you guys enter some shows, lemme know how it goes. (really, let me know, some of you actually have really nice 8's) ha
If you are gonna be serious about showing the car (and I don't mean in some Podunk local show run by the Knights of Columbus or something), you are going to have to get an education in this quick or you are gonna be pissed. A clean stocker with a few carbon bits is not a showcar. |

Though, if I went to a show with a suspension that was that dirty and banged up as it is in your photos, I would have lost too many points to win.

Not particularly. Just an observation. You are the one that said you hardly drive it.

Those were links to threads. lol Just click them. You see where stuff I typed is underlined? and yes the pics look dirty because it was right after the install of the upper control arm. I clean all of that before/at shows no worries. |
WOW, thats your car?
I've actually seen the spread before. great looking 8. Also... am I the only one that hates hinson motorsports? They have been saying "pricing next week" for like a year. |
op please tell me that your plate is not a dale jr nascar refrence
