19x10 +20 no stretch, no rubbin. *PICS*

I have made a few previous threads in which people have trolled about the choice I made in wheel. My wheels dont rub at all.

18x8.5 +30 in the front, 255/40 tires, -2 camber, toe is 0
19x10 +20 in the rear, 275/35 tires, -5 camber, toe is 0
Tein S-techs, Koni Yellows, Megan Racing upper control arms
Fenders rolled and pulled to perfection, not even noticeable.
Rear wheels are tucked.

looks good, some epic camber in the rear

fuztupnz 08-02-2011 08:23 PM

Congrats on running a ridiculous amount of negative camber. You really showed us.

paimon.soror 08-02-2011 08:29 PM

lol gunna hate to see what the wear pattern is on those tires after a couple thousand miles

...and whats wrong with camber? You cant have aggressive fitment like that without camber. I could have easily just stretched tires on and ran -2 or -3 degrees but I hate the look of stretched tires.

Haha I'll post some pics up at the end of next summer or something. These tires will maybe see 3000 miles a year.

fuztupnz 08-02-2011 08:31 PM

See above.

Too much negative camber and you'll eat through tires, kill the suspension geometry and jack up the handling. Other than that, nothing.

Sifu 08-02-2011 08:41 PM

You should look into coilovers to pull off an aggressive stance to match your aggressive wheel size.

It looks like your rear can use another pull and that way you can eliminate some of the camber.

RXGuh 08-02-2011 08:43 PM

So you didn't want to run stretch but willing to run stupid camber? LOL

BTW your lip is barely hanging on...

See: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...e.jsp?techid=4

What's the downside to negative camber? Negative camber leans both tires on the axle towards the center of the vehicle. Each tire develops an equal and offsetting "camber thrust" force (the same principle that causes a motorcycle to turn when it leans) even when the vehicle is driven straight ahead. If the vehicle encounters a bump that only causes one tire to lose some of its grip, the other tire's negative camber will push the vehicle in the direction of the tire that lost grip. The vehicle may feel more "nervous" and become more susceptible to tramlining. Excessive camber will also reduce the available straight-line grip required for rapid acceleration and hard stops

That's like saying you can't have open sores on your face without smoking meth.

Exactly.

Congratulations on doing something that not only looks stupid, but actually is stupid - destroying the primary positive attribute of the RX-8: its handling.

It's a show car, and everyone has their own taste... my car wins shows so obviously other people like it too.
As for coilovers, I am buying a pair of stance coilovers soon, will install them in the spring when I'm back from school. As for now, I have one last show this saturday and I'm off to California in a week, then back to the Chicago for school. So the car will be garage bound until may ha. Even with the camber like this, the tires will probably last me years because the car gets driven 100 miles a week and only in the summer.
Honda Pilot dd ftw.

paimon.soror 08-02-2011 09:20 PM

throw the car on stands if you plan on going away for months .... tires will be all kinds of fuxored with that camber sitting without movement

Rotary-RX8 08-02-2011 09:20 PM

For some reason it looks like your rear passenger side looks alot higher than your right side.

But anyways it looks alright. People have pulled off way more aggressive set ups than this lol (tilt)

and I dont know what you're talking about with that? The lip is very on. secured properly and sits flush with bumper. If you're looking at the part that cuts into the airdam space, its supposed to be like that, it narrows the opening... dumbass.

meh, could be worse, he could have put air ride on it

^this made my day.

Looks like someone needed to do some more homework...

dannobre 08-02-2011 09:48 PM

Well...I run 10.5" X 18" rims on the rear with 275 tires and don't rub, don't run stupid camber.....and they fit cause I have the correct offset wheels...DUH

But I like my wheels :)

TopGear8 08-02-2011 09:56 PM

If its a show car why do you have Rotas?

Lol you are getting butthurt over your Rotas on your showcar :cwm27:.

I don't see any gaps in these like yours...

It's a good thing you are going back to school dumbass.

They're not Rotas....

Danmn858 08-02-2011 11:13 PM

Also, clearly not the same lip. That one is much thinner than mine. Same style I guess? But not the same lip.... and it saddens me that you have to much time on your hands ha.
