the rears are 275...had to get a fender trim so there is no rubbing at all, not even with a packed car with luggage in the trunk

Thanks XDEEDUBBX!

After posting this I stumbled onto your post when you had just got your wheels, yep the 14+ pager , looks awesome mate!

I wont be going the staggered setup but the front +30 are tempting any rubbing issues there?

Also the Toyo T1-R's are the tires I have singled out at the moment...how are they fairing?

Thanks!

yup, deedubb is the reason i know the +30 will rub. i've heard it. it was more so when he didn't have an alignment because it also rubbed near the outside plastic. but now he only rubbs when the wheel is turned all the way to the side. it's not bad though. + it looks sick!

yes the +30 rubs inside only when completely turned in, but its really not that bad. The rears no longer rub at all after the fender trimming. I've had my car packed with 4 people and junk in the trunk and it didnt rub. A good suspension setup also plays a role there.

The T1R's are awesome! I would highly reccomend them as well.

What are ideal tires size with this setup? From what I have been reading most people have gone staggered?

I wouldnt mind putting 255's on the rear...I assume that I will need to go 19x9.5 to achieve that.

Any thoughts?

Lightbulb

Ok I have done some research that might be of use...

Ferrari website:
Width of the tyre, quoted in millimetres is also dependent on the width of the wheel. If a 240mm wide tyre is mounted on a 7" (25.4 X 7 = 177.8mm) wheel, there's excess of 62.2mm or in other words, 31.1mm shoulder on either side of the wheel. It's considered a waste because the excess sidewall height will actually 'squirm' under pressure and more often than not will slump...no good for handling. Rule of thumb, a maximum of 15mm shoulder per side of the rim. Not only makes the car/wheel and tyre combo look good, but also the handling's affected if you put too fat a tyre on a 'slimmish' wheel.
based on that and doing some maths i think the 255 will be a too fat a tyre....however...

This site, apart from being a great source of info, says that 255 can be fitted on 8.5. The Toyo website also says this so most probably that is what I will go with.

NOTE: Those wanting any sort of information on tires the above link is absolutely fantastic!

Oz road regualtions, in my state, also mean that my choice for staggered are either 255/35 or 285/30 so 255 it will be

So final set up will be...drum roll please...19x8.5 +35 - 245/35 R19 all round

255 if the fever takes a hold of me in the future

Thanks again guys!

FWIW I run 19x8.5/255/35 +40 offset all around and it is the closest you can get the OEM setup.

hi guys,

stupid question...on deedubb's wheels there is a significant dish on the rears whereas on whitehot's there is not...

is this down to rim width (9.5 v 8.5), offset, or a combination of both?

has anyone got a pic of a 19x9.5 TE37 +43? I would like to see the dish on those...

help much appreciated as always!!

Its a combination, but lower offset will get more of a dish or lip. I know on some of the wheels there is an option for the spokes to look more flat or more concave ("face 1" or "face 2"). Not all wheel models have this option though. I think for the TE37's it just depends on the width and offset.

tyes the dish will depend on the width and offset for the same type of TE37. deedubb has a 19x9.5 while whitehot has 19x8.5. also the offset is lower on deedubb's too.

so i take it i will get a dish with 9.5 but it will potentially be 1cm less than deedubbs (34 v 43 offset)?

Cool

An update + a question

Final stats on what I purchased:
Rims size - 19x8.5 +35 (F) 19x9.5 +43 (R)
Tire size - 245x35 (F) 275x30 (R) (Toyo T1-R's)

Tires have arrived!! rims have arrived but are with customs ;( soon to be with me though!!

Now for the question

With white rims comes the unfortunate issue of brake dust I will be rectifying this (as much as possible) via some new break pads...

So far I have settled on EBC Green Stuff pads...has anyone had any experience with these? or can recommend any other street use low dust pad?

Thanks as always!

according to the mackin industries te37 chart, i'd say 19x9.5 +44 all the way around would be the safest bet. it may not be as aggressive, but still have a decent size lip. the +44 should come with a low pad, meaning you would not be able to upgrade to a big brake kit.
the +34 would work as well, but you're talking about serious fender modification to avoid rubbing. especially with a 2" drop. you'd probably have to stretch the hell out of the tires as well. like a 245/40. it all depends on how agressive you want this thing to look.

all in all, i think you should go with a 19x9.5 +44 all the way around. safer, decent size lip, able to put on appropriate tire sizes.

There doesn't seem to be much you can do about the brake dust besides washing the wheels more often. It takes a lot of work to keep them clean (and its probably why you don't see too many cars with white wheels). Washing my wheels takes longer than washing the rest of the car. Using some sort of quick detailer spray wax seems to help a little. I'm still experimenting with different products to find what works good.

Oh yeah, and make sure to post some pictures!

well i've owned several sets of aftermarket rims on previous cars and the te37's are byfar the easiest to clean!! i just use normal auto soap and water, and i use tech wax on every part of the rims except the inside. nice and smoov
