18x9 w/ +40 offset Advan model 5

From what I've read it appears that 18x9 wheels with a +40 offset should be fine on the car. No rubbing problems and no need to roll the fenders.

I have read an insane amount of threads on the topic of wheel size, offsets, and whether or not there will be rubbing or not. It would be really nice if there was a database that just had this information at the top of the forum.

I know it's probably annoying as all hell to see yet another "will this fit? Help me, I'm a dumbass" topic on this but it's better to ask than to find out later that I ordered the wrong damn thing.

Heh.. yeah. I had been sold on the Advan's forever until I started digging through all the Volk love threads. That put me in full-on hem/haw mode because they do look fantastic.

Your comment in the AutoExe thread helped push me back this direction.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but those look like the new MS wheels. I would also like to see pics of a car with this set-up. I want wheels that will fill up the wheel wells better, but without the rubbing problems.

good luck trying to find a set of model 5's

they were d/c a while back

other than that i think the car would look awesome with that setup. If I may suggest to run a 10mm spacer on your rear wheels to get a staggered look without having to run different tire sizes

for 18 x9, what tire would you recommend? i know there's a million answers but for a clean look. Would 245/40/18 be okay or too stretched? I'd be nervous to put 255s all around (and dont' want to go staggered).- thanks guys.

anybody who pays $500 ea for a Mazdaspeed wheel that weighs as much as the OE wheel should be clubbed over the head by a baby seal

That's correct. I ordered the Advan Model T5's. The look similar, they have just a bit more space between the spokes and a bit more curve to the spokes, but they are supposed to be even lighter than the Model 5's. I'm supposed to have them aroun 2/15....I ordered them 11/12.

I'll post pics as soon as I have them on.
