18x8.5 and 18x9.5 Wheel Question

I just ordered new tires (Goodyear F1 GS-DS) in a 245/40/18 size. I found a guy selling rims that I've been looking for in a 18x8.5 (2 each) and a 18x9.5 (2 each) configuration. I've read the threads and articles about how staggered wheels unbalancing this car (my RX-8 is non-turbo) but since the tires are 245s would this still be considered "staggered"? Are there any issues or reasons I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, you would be stretching the tires more over the wider wheels.

If you are gonna put 245's on it all the way around, why buy staggered wheels? 245's are really stretchin it on a 9.5 rear... 265's on mine were too stretched for my liking.

245s on a 9.5 wheel is scary.

The 245/40/18 will fit on your stock rims just fine. It will even give you a hair more rim protection you have now. Save yourself some money.

245/40 on 9.5 is sexy.
225 on 8.5 is sexy too.

Too much rubber's no fun.

uhh... haha. wouldn't you want more rubber. aka more traction and grip.

gotta watch out for those curbs, it could really mess up a rim w/ a stretch tire.
