16 to 18 inch rims - is it possible?

This is probably a pretty stupid question, but give me a break - I'm a girl. I have an 04 automatic with the 16 inch rims. Is it possible to change them to the 18 inch ones? Of course, I know I have to get new tires but would anything need to be changed with my car to do that?

Thanks!

Missy

Nope. Just go to a bodyshop or any tire place and have them installed & aligned. A lot of members have done the same..

I learned where D's came from, well really where Dubs came from.

D's-->Dubs-->Double Dimes-->20's

Double Dimes is the missing link, I never could figure out how they went from 20's to Dubs.

I feel so in touch with the street. I should go beat an old lady.

coming from 16" stock dont you have to get your PCM or ECU or whatever recalibrated to compensate for the different amount of RPMs said 18" wheel will be making to cover a mile (hence to properly calculate the MPH)

As long as the total outside diameter of the wheel/tire combo is the same, no recalibration required.

Get bigger wheel, and a smaller sidewall tire and your fine.

You'll need the thingy for adjusting you speedometer since it wont be correct anymore. ( ECU/PCM flash wont do it) Don't think dealer can do it.

I forgot what it's called, but search a bit and you'll find a few threads on the subject.

No. As has been stated, keep the outside diameter the same and you'll be find.
