Won't start, No sound when ignition turned on, Battery still good
Won't start, No sound when ignition turned on, Battery still good
Hi, a few days ago I entered my 2004 6speed Manual RX8 into a Car show. My RX8 has the following modifications currently:
- NEW AEM CAI
- NEW GReddy Pulleys
- NEW Koyo Performance Radiator
- NEW ACT HDSS Performance Clutch
- NEW ACT Prolite Performance Flywheel
- NEW MazdaManiac Cobb Accessport
- NEW Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD with Metra 95-7510HG Double DIN Installation Dash Kit
- NEW Sparkplugs, NEW Ignition Coils, NEW Battery, NEW Waterpumps, NEW Watercoolant Tank, NEW Belts
* I already have a P0610 ECU problem thats causing me to have heavy idle-hunts and I must continously rev my engine to keep the engine from stalling.
* I have had an AC problem most likely cuz of the new module with Metra that replaced the stock radio.
* I bought the RX8 third-hand hoping to tune it up and replace everything anyways.
Anyways back to the story: At the carshow, the other cars were revving their engines, so I started to rev my engine to redline. My engine was the loudest because of the CAI. At the end I won the carshow and we had to move our cars out, and when I was driving my car out, my tachometer and fuel gauge and all my other gauges had dropped to 0 as if my car's engine was off. However, my engine was still working and I was able to drive and rev it still. Panicking, I pulled over to the side and turned off my engine, then tried to turn it back on. When I turned the key over to turn on the ignition, there was no crank sound at all. In addition, when I put my key in, the Key Alarm light keeps on flashing very fast, and the tire monitor flashes a bit also. Also my Access port can no longer connect to my car via OBDII. However my radio and all my lights still work.
Can anyone tell me whats wrong? And what do I need to do to fix it? My car is currently in a Mazda Specialist but they are having trouble diagnosing also. Its been 3 days in there and still nothing.
Is it the PCM cuz of the current P0610? Is it the starter/crank? Why isn't my car starting?

Warranty on PCM is 8 year 100k miles. How many you got? Probably getting close on the 8 years!
I did a quick search(you should do the same) and it seemed to indicate that most were getting the PCM replaced, although I did see where someone just got it reflashed and it took. Use advanced search from the pulldown above, and then on the left, type in p0601
Guess seeing the Cobb on there, not sure if you should unmarrry this from the car and then start from there?????? Just not sure.

I actually unbinded my Accessport a few days (2-3 days) before this incident happened because I was getting a P0000 code with the Accessport. I've tried searching the forums for a situation like mines regarding the P0610, but none had idle hunts like mine.
