Windshield chipped? FREE repair

FYI- lots of auto insurance co.s will pay (FREE) to have a stone chip fixed- a repair company will come to your home/office to fill the chip w/ glue to keep it from spreading. If you don't fix the chip, and it spreads a lot (which it may do over time- esp. with large temp changes), then you'll HAVE to get the windshield replaced to pass inspection. The cost for the chip repair is usually $75 or so, vs. $250- $500+ for a full windshield replacement. The insurance co. will usually pay for the chip repair in full with NO deductible, (so they won't have a co$tly windshield replacement bill in the future.) Call your insurer to find out. USAA covers this, as do most major insurers.

Something good to know for all your vehicles.

In the fine sate of Florida your insurance company is required by law to replace any damage to your windsheild AT NO COST OR RAISE IN RATES. This has alot to do with gravel trucks spitting out stones on the freeways and cracking up peoples cars frequently.
