Whole car shakes intermittently on highway
Whole car shakes intermittently on highway
This problem first started a couple weeks ago when I go on the highway(over 55mph) my car shakes vigorously for a couple mins then all of a sudden goes away even after the car is warned up and I've been driving for 10+ min. Does an one have anyone idea what the culprit could be?????

All lug nuts are in and tight and the wheels are def balanced. As soon as I go on the highway it starts but then after a couple miles it goes away I can't see balance as an issue if it goes away as fast as it starts
All air pressures are at 32 I have 19s one it and I have never had a problem in the last 2 years they have been on the car. It feels more suspension the first time it happened I thought a tire was going to fall off or I had a flat but all of a sudden it went away. It almost feels like I'm on the rumble strip on the edge of the roads. I can't imagine it being flat spots because after sitting all winter after I took it out two months ago it was perfect.
I would think it could be soemething more dangerous like wheel bearings or something to do with the driveline or transmission.
Is it repeatable or random? Are there any noises associated. With it?

I would look to front wheel bearings, front ball joints, bent wheel or parts in the steering system (like tie rod ends) to be a problem.
In the Jeep and 4X4 world it's called (over dramatically) "Death Wobble".

No it was a bearing going bad so it was intermittent. You need to jack the car up and pull on each wheel and feel for some play to find it. However, mine was a trick to find. The dealer replaced the wrong wheel bearing when they did it.
What it sounds like to me is a brake rotor with excessive run out.
After driving a short distance the brake pad compresses the caliper piston
back into the caliper housing and the brake pad(s) are no longer grabbing
the rotor(s)
Easy test is to slightly depress brake pedal and see if a vibration is
introduced. Is there a brake vibration?
