Weird symptoms... Transmission and oil change!?

Hello, I have this problem since january... The problem is, when I change engine oil with 5w20 non-synthetic, I can shift easily but as soon as I put 2000 miles on the oil, it wont go into gears. I even tried 10w30 and it's even worst! Only after 1000 miles I can't get into gears... It looks like my clutch is not engaging! I have to rev match to shift without the clutch and start the car already into first gear and it advances whe nI crank! I did a transmission fluid change 20 000 miles ago and I did not mix up the oil bolt with the transmission bolt... First I would like to know why is my engine oil getting thicker and dirtier causing my clutch not to engage? Did my engine oil leak into my transmission case? If so how is that theoreticaly possible? My transmission case isn't connecte directly to the oil pan! Please help me! By the way, my throw out bearing is giving up I hear chirping noise.

You are correct, the engine oil can not possibly get to the transmission oil.

My gut tells me that you have 1 or more bearing failures in the clutch assembly, namely the pilot bearing and/or the release bearing. Both can cause problems with shifting as described.

Thanks for the quick reply! But I understand that this happens when the 2 bearings are malfunctionning but why does it get worst when I have thick or old engine oil?

I seriously doubt that it has anything to do with engine oil. In order for engine oil viscosity to affect it, the e-shaft has to be "out of place". In order for that to happen, the stationary gears have to be broken, missing, or crazy worn, and if that was happening, you engine probably wouldn't run at all, or if it did, it would be so insanely unsteady and noisy that you would be posting about that, not about shifting.

Perhaps you are doing something else at the same time as the changes that is affecting it?

Maybe you are right, maybe it's a crazy coincidence that everytime I change the oil I can get into gears. I will order a new clutch kit with the bearings and install it. By the way do you know if it's worth it cleaning the OMP lines and nozzles? I read the other thread but at the end they were only debating about if it's a good idea to restrict air flow... I use around a quart every 1600 miles

That's the low side of normal. I wouldn't feel comfortable with it that low, so yeah, I'd clean it. Up to you though. Might just have one of 3 lines blocked or restricted.

'Best' is subjective. That thread has the more ideal methods in it. Pick one
